Fabric, Food and Strange Kids

I bought fabric on Sunday...  I can't show it to you.  But I have it.

And just a note, Hancocks Fabrics are closing all their doors.  BUMMER!

Not that I was a huge fan as they're too far from home for me to visit very often, but it's sad to see another fabric store close that actually has garment fabric...

I made use of their 20% off sale for the fabric that I purchased, even splurging a little and bought myself a tool to help thread my serger!
I have no idea how long I've survived without one.  Maybe I'll swear less now.

maybe.

Anywho, mid afternoon on Sunday, after a visit to my bestie's, Meri and I went to her 4H meeting and then the whole club distributed a billion bags all around town for our club's annual food drive.  We'll go around town next week behaving as if we're on an Easter egg hunt looking for bags of food on people's porches and then stock up the local food pantry.

In searching for photos of the last food drive that I actually took pictures at, I came across these from that same month and year, 2014.

Back when bow ties were cool.

So was digging in the fridge...  He was such a cute little bugger!

And investigating the local windmills when visiting his other grandma.

And the girls being spoiled on their niece's weekends in Kansas City.

And then I found it...  The kids and the haul from 2014.

Unfortunately Meri won't be available to help pick up, so I think I'll probably be driving kids, that I don't know their names, around town to pick up the food.

At least it's not a heat wave yet!

Leon's got being a man all figured out - open fridge, stare at the contents for a long time - close door.

That's some haul!

I never make it to Hancock's since it's too far and in a rough part of town.
I'm promising myself I'm going to get to Mary Jo's in NC before too long. I've heard too many good things about it!
