Mom had a lot of advice and I’ll try and remember some.
1) SS = sit straight, stand straight.
2) If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all.
3) If you’re bored, that could mean that you’re boring if you can’t find anything to do.
4) Decorating a room is great, but clean it first.
5) Take everything to God in prayer. He loves to answer prayers.
I’m sure there is more. Mom was a wise woman.

Your mom was wise. I might tweak though the meaning/ intent to #2. Sometimes honesty, even if perceived as not nice, us actually kinder than someone making a huge error in action or judgement.
