Prom Prep & The Ban Roll

Let me just say right now, none of my kids are attending prom this year...
Meri is only a Sophomore after all.

I'm adjusting this dress for a friend of hers.

Actually the same girl I hemmed a prom dress for last year.  She is a shorty!

the black dress.

She finally brought me the dress last night, as she's a busy beaver who values mulching with her family over getting her silly prom dress to me...

So after whacking off two layers of netting to take some of the poof and then almost 8 inches off the remaining 6 layers of skirt and hemming one hem last night and one more this morning, all it needs is a good steaming and it's done.

By the way... If you're not doing baby hems with BanRoll yet, you are wasting your time...
I am in love with that stuff!  Tutorial here.

I hope to get a pic of her in it from prom night and I'll show you.

When is prom around your parts?

Prom was two weeks ago for public schools and last week for our homeschool group. We have such a small group that the seniors invited all rising 8th graders through 12th grade to come. Every senior class plans their own dance or not. We've had square dancing, English country line dancing and shagging over the years. This was the first traditional prom since my older two were in 12th and 10th grades, almost 10 years ago. Anyway, Ethan was able to go and I took photos. It was a fun night!

I still have to try the ban roll.
