Busy Little Bee

I've been sewing in a majority of my free time.  I will get done with these dresses!!

One chore I'll be skipping, in May anyhow, is mowing.  The kids talked me into it to save the bees.

And so that the neighbors wont take pity on me thinking that the poor Widow McVal is too feeble to mow these days and do it for me, I'm having someone on Etsy make me a yard sign similar to this...

BUT with a twist.

It will have the bee pic with the wirds,

"I am not lazy. My kids have talked me into No Mow May"

It'll get here next week amd I can use it every May! :}

And for your entertainment...

Frank in a box.

 Enjoy your Thursday!

Calm duck

It's going to be busy day.. . But then again, when isn't it?  But this will mostly be busy at work.

Blizzard outside. School is closed, kids are home.  Leon can't make it over to his daddy's until later when this blooming wind finally dies down a little and I get a break from work.

Sipping on a carbonated grape beverage.  My jeans have a rip.

Gotta get back to work.  Have a great day and keep pedaling as fast as you can!

On VBS and a Prayer

Well...  It's another day I'll be going full boar for work and after work.  School starts tomorrow, so I'm helping out with the senior breakfast for tomorrow.  Love me some cantaloupe!

To add to the busy-ness of the day, I've got lots of other things on my mind too.  Please send some prayers this way.   just reference my name when you pray...  God knows what it is....

And for your viewing pleasure...  Here I am at Vacation Bible School last week doing face painting on some willing volunteers.  Apparently the favorite was butterflies and that didn't really have ANYTHING to do with the lesson...

I found a recipe on Pinterest on how to make the paint from cold cream, food coloring and corn starch.  I used Oil of Olay, food coloring & FORGOT to add the cornstarch, so it was an icky mess.  The little sweetie in front of me was just getting her 3rd painting because she kept smearing it on her hands.  I mumbled something about how her mom is going to kill me!  But she said, "Don't worry!  My mom didn't even bring me tonight!"

Um right...  I'll bet she'll see your shirt later...  *I hope it came out Amy!!!*  *don't kill me!*

Have a good one!

Weekend Follies

And you thought the busy-ness surrounding the recent wedding made me busy...

This week has been crazy. Don't let me tire you out. Take short breaks between each paragraph!

Sunday, busy every single minute... except for an hour and a half that I was in Des Moines with nothing to do so we mall walked for a while... Church that morning, went to lunch with my sister, niece, niece husband and new baby, who I got to hold for a REALLY long time! Until his mom made me give him back!!!We ate at the Cracker Barrel and that was great! Meri found this hat there and I'm determined to make one for her with fabric instead... Not sure how yet, but I'll figure it out. Then mall walked. Then a Reformation Rally at a sister church in D.M. with a dinner afterwards. I LOVE LOVE LOVE singing alto in the choir with so many voices surrounding me! But it was weird, because Meri, who was sitting with the hubs told me that if she focused on any one person in the choir, suddenly she could hear only them. Wow... I hope no one was focusing on me! A few of the notes were tricky.

After D.M., we visited with some friends until beggars night was over in our town, THEN went home. I think I've mentioned before, we don't do Halloween anymore. Well, apparently we're getting soft, because we made one exception. We let Meri go trick or treating on Monday night in the next town with friends. She dressed up as a ninja bunny (alas, I have no pictures...). She wore the pjs and hood from this picture. Weren't they young then??!
I made those hoods...

Then a Taekwondo helmet and chest pad and two play foam swords along with pink bear feet slippers with face painted whiskers. If you can imagine all that...

My son and his wife wanted his old dresser back, so I unpacked all my sewing stuff from it and reworked how my sewing stash is being stuffed in my office. Got another cabinet and bookshelf from the garage and sorted through more fabric than I knew I had... There are a few boxes of clothes to up-cycle too. Maybe I'll get ruthless someday and send all of those to the Goodwill... But that would be a shame. The least I could do is salvage buttons and zippers from them all, if not the fabric... Call me a hoarder...

Ok... So that was just my home life. Work has been so crazy busy! One of the other programmers is on vacation this week and everything seems to be coming at us at once. On Tuesday I wasn't sure if I'd get lunch at all, but after our phone conference call staff meeting, I decided I was going to anyway to recharge!

I've got quite a "To-Do" list, so I guess I better get back to it. I hope to stop around and visit sporadically today when I need a small breaks. Hope you're all having a good week!
