I'm spending the morning sitting in another dentist office. I spent yesterday afternoon with Meri at hers and she's still feeling miserable. But today, it's Leon's turn. He would fare better. It's only a kindergarten checkup. Ryan is in with him now.
Hopefully I'll make it back to my office soon.
Prayer requests for a bunch of my friends out there today.
Mimi (formerly the Cursing Crafter blogger) in Oregon and the forest fires.
Brandi (formerly My Four Bubs blogger) in Florida and the hurricanes. May her hurricane food snack stash hold out just a little longer!
Trudy (formerly Sewing With Trudy) in Texas and the floods.
Frances (formerly I don't even remember blog) with the loss of her husband recently.
I've been virtual friends with these women for such a long time, as you can tell by the "formerly"s. I currently keep up with them on FB. So much pain and worry out there. .. I love you guys!
I'm praying that the pain lessens and the fires go out, the waters recede and the winds die down.
What a year it's been so far...

Senseless...
I had a whole idea planned out for todays post, but that will wait.
Remember Bunny, my nephew Sam's bride from October's wedding?
She's one of the coordinator/organizers of the Boston Marathon and was there yesterday across the street when the first blast happened. Her dad stayed behind to help the victims and a cousin went with her to a friend's house nearby.
Sam was in Japan and Singapore on business and had actually started on his trek home yesterday before all this went down. I hope he gets home quickly and safely. Bunny needs him.
So I'm sending out a prayer request for all involved in the tragedy yesterday. My heart breaks every time I turn on the tv or check out FB.

On VBS and a Prayer
Well... It's another day I'll be going full boar for work and after work. School starts tomorrow, so I'm helping out with the senior breakfast for tomorrow. Love me some cantaloupe!
To add to the busy-ness of the day, I've got lots of other things on my mind too. Please send some prayers this way. just reference my name when you pray... God knows what it is....
And for your viewing pleasure... Here I am at Vacation Bible School last week doing face painting on some willing volunteers. Apparently the favorite was butterflies and that didn't really have ANYTHING to do with the lesson...
I found a recipe on Pinterest on how to make the paint from cold cream, food coloring and corn starch. I used Oil of Olay, food coloring & FORGOT to add the cornstarch, so it was an icky mess. The little sweetie in front of me was just getting her 3rd painting because she kept smearing it on her hands. I mumbled something about how her mom is going to kill me! But she said, "Don't worry! My mom didn't even bring me tonight!"
Um right... I'll bet she'll see your shirt later... *I hope it came out Amy!!!* *don't kill me!*

Your Move.
Have you ever played Chess?
I learned in the 9th grade from a the youngest brother of our head teacher. I come from a small church school where 65.4% of the students were either my cousins or siblings... So when the new teacher came AND brought his younger brother, it was SO cool! The brother was a couple years older than me and was/is very military minded. Watched MASH every night, ALWAYS wore fatigues and once handcuffed a problematic student to the flagpole when he was being a jerk at recess. Then we left him there when we went back inside... Kind of like A Christmas Story, but set in the late 70s, early 80s. And it wasn't the middle of winter. "Where's Phillip??"
Alan taught me how to play chess during recesses and I'm still pretty good at it. Haven't played in a while though. I recently found him on FB and it's been interesting seeing how his life unfolded.
So.. That's how I learned Chess.
Back to the present... Life is a LOT like Chess. How do you know where the next 10 moves are going when you play a single move? And how can you start a game again when someone, in a rash move, has swiped all the pieces from the board?
Very carefully...
The board has been reset and ready for more moves.
And no, this is not about me! But a situation that is constantly on my heart and in my prayers.
And now for a little Leon!
Have a wonderful Fourth of July!!!
I'll catch up with you guys on Thursday!

Oven Denver Omelet Recipe
Here is my Oven Denver Omelet recipe that I made for our churches Easter breakfast last weekend. My family said they really liked it... They might have just been making me feel good... But I liked it too! I doubled the recipe and it fit quite nicely into a Pampered Chef stoneware lasagna pan. But you can do what you need to...

8 eggs
1/2 cup half and half cream (I used milk - didn't have any 1/2 & 1/2...)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup finely chopped fully cooked ham
1/4 cup finely chopped green pepper
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
In a bowl, whisk eggs and cream. Stir in the cheese, ham, green pepper and onion. Pour into a greased 9 inch square baking dish. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.
I got this recipe from Taste of Home Breakfast cookbook given to us by one of my besties. Because you KNOW... Breakfast is the most important meal of the day!
Hey - please pray for Tiffany's grandmother. She's been in the hospital for several weeks now and it looks like a rough weekend ahead. Thanks!

In Sickness & In Health
I've been feeling a bit sickly the last couple days so I didn't post yesterday.
It might be because of the queasiness in my stomach.
It might be because of the massive headache that takes my mind off of what it should be on.
It might be because I need to see a chiropractor soon.
It might be because I've got a lot on my mind.
It might be because I'm not sure what sewing project to start next.
But whatever it is, I hope it lets up soon...
I do ask you however to say a prayer for my son's fiance, whose grandfather just passed away early this morning. Her heart is broken.
Thanks.
