Early this morning we had a sudden blizzard and got several inches of snow. What fun... My daughters weekend field trip got called off early and they had to drive back from Illinois late last night and rolled into town around 4am because of the impending storm. The teachers who were driving all these kids were running on no sleep for the past 24 hours, so God was definitely watching over them and I was praying every waking minute, which were several around 3am...
This afternoon, it was still flurrying a little, but the roads are melting off and some still have lots of slush. My son was driving to meet us at a friends house when he got off work. He almost got there...
This is my minivan that he was driving. Another driver coming from the opposite direction lost control and started fish-tailing. Hit Ryan and pushed him into the deep ditch where he hit the pole and imployed both the front air bags. The drivers window is shattered, wheel shredded, doors jammed and good!
Both drivers were not injured, so we're VERY thankful about that! God is indeed good! Ryan was shook up, but we went back to our friends house to get the girls and he was shaking a bit when he told them what happened.
So... We're down to Ryan's car, which has no working windshield wipers and leaks oil. Robb's car, which is good and Margaret's (my mother in law), but I don't want to impose on her.
I guess we find out tomorrow what the insurance company can do for us. Hopefully we'll get a rental until things get straightened out.
By the way - the car at the top of my blog was NOT totaled by us. We were on the Ring of Kerry in Ireland in 2005 and we just happened to drive right by it. Someone had had a very bad evening the night before...

Eek! Glad everyone is ok! I was so surprised that the weather hit south of us! We got about an inch, maybe two, but it was mostley melted off by 1 or 2 pm yesterday.
