Visit from the Tooth fairy

Meri had her dentist appt today. Robb picked her up from school and I met them at the dentist's office.

Can you believe they won't give you a discount if you bring the original filling back with you? I left the little hunk of metal on their counter... Mainly because I forgot it...

After 2 little x-rays of her teeth, they discovered that there are a couple teeth growing in underneath a few and an infection under the one where the filling fell out. So... we had an extraction today with a promise from Meri that she'll work on the two other teeth herself and wiggle them as often as she can.

I'm not sure exactly where they stuck that needle, but she "acted" extremely sleepy as if they'd really doped her up. I know they didn't and she's a bit of a drama queen anyway...

With half her mouth sound asleep and the whimpering that ensued, I decided that I should take her out to lunch rather than let all her classmates watch her lunch dribble down her novocained chin... It's ok if she's a little late getting back.

We went to one of my favorite little bistros and got her fixed up with some chicken noodle soup which dribbled down her chin. She was only able to eat about 1/4 of it by the time I happened to look at a clock and gasp! I snarfed down my pasta chef salad and put hers in a box to go.

And yes Robb, if you're reading this... I also purchased 5 of her famous butter brickle bars for us at home. Wow - are they scrumptious! and no one has to share.
