Wouldn't you know it? It was in the basket of miscellaneous junk on our kitchen counter. Under a bunch of stuff. So Ryan took it with him that same day and it got dropped into a puddle of water...
It wouldn't start but gave a blurry screen and green light, so Robb had me do a Kim Komando trick. I took the sodden battery and SD card out of it, put the SD card on the counter to dry. Then put the entire camera with the battery door open and battery into a plastic baggy and dumped in enough rice to cover it all and zipped it up for a day or so. I didn't have any white rice, so I used instant brown rice. Did the trick too.
Then after a day or so, I dusted it all off and blew some compressed air into the battery pocket to clean out all the rice. Plugged the battery into it and it didn't turn on at all. Stuck it on the camera charger and the next day all is well with the world... I was able to download the existing photos off the SD card with it and take new pictures.
I LOVE Kim Komando now!! Apparently you can do this with cell phones too. Had I but known that when the kids dropped their phone into the dog water a few years back...

What a relief that you found your camera and it's all right.
Come and see what's new at my blog.

We recently dropped our camera in tub diving for the baby who went for a swim. Wish I'd known this trick then! (Found you at the Saturday Stalker)
