Ryan and friend setting up for their working exhibit. They made Zen gardens in little plastic cups.
Crazy people everywhere I guess. And no, we didn't go on this!
Meri went on these bungee cords instead!
Then she and I went on the ride that carries you over the tops of all the tents and rides across the width of the fairgrounds.
Found lots of food on sticks. I don't remember who told me about cheesecake on a stick. We didn't try it tho. I was hungry for lunch instead. I got a polish sausage later with kraut.
I found the hat that my friend IRL, Kshotz knitted for the state fair! It's the red one in the middle. So cool! I wish I had patience to knit!
Maddy played A River Flows In You again for a really big audience and did really well. She very well may have gotten a piano student out of the deal!
Now for the lowlights... My son moved out unexpectedly yesterday afternoon. I'm entering the empty nest phase of my life... and . it . sucks .

Looks like it was a busy day indeed! Thanks for snapping a photo of my hat! I had 5 entry tags and tossed it in with the other stuff at the last minute. I hope they had plenty of knitting so that they will keep the competition going as I hope it inspires more people to take up knitting. (p.s. you could SOOO do it!)
We have A moving out next Friday, expectedly heading to college, but it's still going to be tough. They grow up so fast!!
Wow, you did have a busy day...
I wanted to thank you so much for visiting my Blog ealier and leaving such a sweet and thoughtful comment! It really meant a lot to me...
Have a great weekend,
Aimee
wow-wee busy bee!
My mom is feeling the same, all her children have left the nest now...
Hoping for an exciting chapter of your life!
Fabulous weekend~
Your daughter plays beautifully. That song is familiar, but I can't place where I've heard it.
Empty nest...it does suck. I've always said the Lord knew what He was doing when he gave us our youngest 13 and 10 years after the older two. It'll be a while before we have a completely empty nest. We'll pray for you.
Those bungee cords are crazy! I don't think I could stomach it. I'm so sorry to hear that your son moved out, and so abruptly. I hope everything is ok and I'm sending big hugs your way. I can't imagine the feeling.

We enjoyed our State Fair yesterday too. There is just no other experience like it ;-) I've lived through empty nest with our son, and then he boomeranged back. You just never know! I want to see/hear the piano solo but looks like youtube is having an issue. I shall return! -Tammy
