First watch the video... This will explain our family attitude when someone in our family is given something so awesome that words and return favors could never be enough...
So we've dubbed this type of hug a "Sheldon" hug.
So anyway... Christmas 2008. Ryan happened upon the email address of John Ondrasik, (aka Five For Fighting) and asked him if he could get an autograph for his sister who is a big fan and knows several of his songs for the piano. John writes back to him and says that he's a good big brother and he'll do better than that... So a week or so later, Ryan gets a package in the mail from John. It's sheet music for one of Johns songs, "Superman" and the sheet music was autographed!
Ryan gave it to Maddy for her Christmas present. When she opened it, she was stunned! It was definitely time for the "Sheldon" hug.
Ryan is definitely the super gift giving guy... Because this year for Meri's birthday, while she was opening her gifts, he snuck off to my office and came back with something tucked behind his back. He gave her one of his hedgehog babies, the one that she had fallen in love with! She was so happy she gave him a "Sheldon" hug of her own.
It's not enough...

LOL the sheldon hug... I think Mr.H would have the same reaction if I got him a personalized autograph from a hockey play lol ps. that hedgehog baby is too precious!
Awwww... brotherly love reeled in a wonderful present!! That is so sweet. And you know I love the hedgie story! That is one sweet baby hedgie there. ...And one sweet boy you have ;-) -Tammy
Awww! That's so sweet. I don't think my two kids would get close enough to each other for a Sheldon hug,
The Sheldon hug's the best! The hedgehog is really kinda cute. I didn't know they were pets. You certainly have a loving family. It's refreshing to see this after another blog I frequent had posted pictures of their two young kids posing with their Christmas gifts of real assault rifles looking all terrorist. I prefer the hugs. Thanks for giving me back my faith in humanity! Beautiful family!
LOLOLOL
I really should go watch this Big Bang Theory show....
And I agree that Ryan is a great gift giver! He has truly gotten the spirit of the whole deal down.
Now how do I go about getting on his gift-giving list??teehee
AW, for so many things here. Be careful not to drop the baby, they get excited and prick up (you can feel it even through a towel).
Love that show, can relate in so many ways (geek at heart).
