Wandom Wednesday!

Hi! Sorry for the speech impediment thing... I wanted Random Wednesday, but it didn't sound wight. I mean right...

Random bits of my life...

My dad was ill from the heat last week! But then he came home and almost froze. He just got home yesterday from a two week mission trip in Nigeria. There are days like this that I wish I was closer to heat stroke than frost bite... If only I had the choice...

What kind of candy do you send in your kids valentines? Meri is doing hers this morning (2 hour delay) and putting in caramel apple suckers. She made valentines by hand and we ran off copies on my printer. She saw the original on my desk yesterday and said, "Wow! This copy came off perfect!"

I tivoed Gross Pointe Blank and watched a little bit this morning. I'm John Cusack's biggest fan by the way. I love that movie! John! If you're reading this! Please send me an autographed picture! And maybe swing by for drinks! You know how some of you ladies are about the Twilight guys? I swoon for Cusack... Except where he's a really bad guy... but I digress and contradict myself...

Meri found a 5 dollar bill tucked in the couch this morning. I think it's mine... (as far as she knows...) sigh.. I pinned it to the fridge...

I'm drinking ice water.

Do you hoard the kids school pictures? Because I sure do. Well actually... I forget where I put the picture pack until they're getting the next years taken. Probably too late to hand them out then isn't it?

Have a great Wednesday!

Those are great cards! Copying them is a great idea. I remember when I made all of mine individually...it really wasn't fun!

Oh, I love John too. There is just something about him that is irresistable!

What a great idea for Valentine's cards. I added plain lollipops to my daughters valentines but due to snow she isn't going to see any of her friends until next week so I will probably mail the cards by themselves. I love John Cusack to. I made a list of 14 of my favorite romantic movies on my blog and of course two were starring him.

The Valentine's day card that Meri drew is adorable.
For Valentine's I bought the boys(Den & DJ) magic cards and Anna a used CSI DVD. And some cheap candy I got on clearance. Can you tell that we are tapped out?
And I super love Gross Pointe Blank!

We never put candy with Valentine's when I was a kid, so I was surprised last year when Kat came home from her Kindergarten party and had candy attached to at least half of the valentine's. I got with the program this year and bought a box of 88¢ valentines and enough individually wrapped Twizzlers to tape on them. She has 20 kids in her class, so it wasn't to bad at 7¢ each.

For Kat's Valentine's Day gift I ended up getting a board game for all of us to play and a couple of Reese's PB Hearts. She'll get more than enough candy at school, I think.

I thought I was the bad mom for still having packs of school pix undistributed. Used to be better at that, but by kid #3, it doesn't get done very well anymore.

My youngest is just shy of 14 so he hasn't done the school valentine cards for 3 yrs now....around here it is UNCOOL after 5th grade.lol
The last year or 2 of doing them, he did get a few with candy stuck to them so it was just becoming THE THING to do around here 3 yrs. ago.

We never did special stuff for our kids at Valentine's Day. Grandma would send them cards but not presents or candy.
VDay is a grown up holiday for me...for your grown up honey.lol
Kids get enough stuff....why turn every holiday into a kidcentric thing, ya know? ;-)
