Can I get a second on that??

Well... we're back from vacation. The weekend was too busy to get all caught up on laundry from it yet. Luckily the kids have more clothes to wear to school today than what they unpacked. With the girls flu-ey on Monday, Robb and me feeling sicky on Wednesday, Robb REALLY feeling icky on Thursday and then the fun drive home Friday... I need a second vacation just to recuperate from the first one!

Here are some scenes from our vacation! Too bad I can't make you sit through a slideshow!
These are the Fantastic Caverns that are advertised on billboards throughout ALL of Missouri almost as much as Wall Drug in South Dakota... You ride on wagons through them. They are huge and very pretty! However at $26 per adult... a bit much... Below is us towards the back of the wagon on the left.
After one of our hikes, the girls explored around our cabin and found a secret door underneath. Then they played dueling swings...
On our first hike. If only it was green! It would've been much more beautiful! This is Inspiration tower. Several stories high. Gorgeous views.
The girls were a little too timid on the level where you COULD walk right up to the railing.Do you see my car? After playing with the zoom... NOW do you see it? It's the filthy one... We found a car wash about 20 minutes later with the GPS.While trying to find the car wash, we drove up the strip and found King Kong from the Hollywood Wax Museum, the Titanic, etc. My pic of the Titanic didn't turn out, so I'll raid the kid's cameras later. I do have a frightening story about the Titanic to tell too, but that can wait.We saw one show. Since it was St. Patrick's Day week, the girls and I splurged and saw the Spirit of the Dance. That's her in white by the way. Irish Dance troupe. They were great! NOT Michael Flattley, but great anyway. We bought the photo and Meri had it autographed by several of the performers.

On the way home, we stopped at Lamberts Cafe in Springfield. Home of the Throwed Roll! Seriously! They throw the rolls to you! Awesome place! We were there about 30 minutes before they opened and still had to stand in line to get in. Since we were back on solid foods for only a short time before this... we definitely did NOT do it justice. We'll have to come back.

Ok - I guess I've bored you with all my pics enough for one day! Gotta get some work done!

Welcome home! No matter how great your vacation, it is always good to come home. (Well....after the laundry is done.)

It looks like you did have some fun. And we went to the Lamberts in AL. Anna got smacked in the head with a roll! I laughed until I cried. It made a smack noise. I think the "pitcher" was trying to flirt with her but put a little too much umph on the throw. Funny.

I'd gladly sit through a vacation slide show. It looks like you had a blast! :)

$26 each does sound pretty steep. Have you ever been to Carlsbad Caverns in NM?

Doesn't it always happen that way.. someone always has to get sick.. Our last vacation we were following my father in law down a very windy mountain road.. 2 of my 4 kids ended up puking before we got to the end of it...sigh..
Sounds like you guys had a great time even though you got sick! I hope you are all on the mend now :) . I love the pictures!

Hi McVal,

I love the pictures. Your girls look mischievous just like mine. I cant count the vacations we took when one of us was sick. That always suck!
Take care,
