The pressure is on!

Well - I found out that the next ASG (American Sewing Guild) meeting is THIS weekend, not next, when I had planned for it... Meri and I didn't get her dress done yet and she was going to wear it. She only has a half day at school today so she's planning on spending the afternoon working on it. Ummm yeah. I'm out in my office and not able to help.

Well... We'll see how this goes. She may be using the seam ripper a lot today. But then again, maybe not!

So last night I dropped her off for her Taekwondo class and there were 4 new people plus one of the parents of one of the current students who had decided to join up too! Super! I went home to make supper and Meri came home an hour later.

She sprang it on me at supper. "Mom, we need you!" ?? "With more people in Taekwondo and different levels, my teacher needs you to come back and help out." ??

Ok - I had to try and remember why I quit Taekwondo. I am a 2nd degree black belt and stopped shortly before Meri was born and came back briefly afterwards. The pressures of having 3 kids under the age of 9 with one as an infant at the same time was daunting and I couldn't do Taekwondo, keep house, work full time, feed them without a little more time, so I had to cut somewhere. And my family wouldn't let me quit feeding them. So...
She's 10 now. And I (basically) have 3 teenagers in the house. Sometimes the pressures of having teenagers can be more daunting than the younger ones... However I don't have to help them in the bathroom any longer, so THAT'S good... There's more guilt trips coming from the kids now than there were then. I think when they were younger, I was the one piling on the guilt. The shoe table has turned...

Dang...

I think I have to start practicing my butterfly kick again.

Don't let them guilt you into teaching karate b/c you are stretched thin as it is! Do I need to come over there and tell that teacher to PAY to hire someone?
Just say No....and if they don't understand that, give em a butterfly kick to the groin....lolol

I hope Meri gets her dress done without too much seam rippage. ;-)

Wow, 2 black belts!!! I think Taekwondo might be a good way to release frustration at the kids without actually harming them!

Mom-guilt is no fun, but it's unavoidable no matter how great your kids are, they are going to bring it.
