We attended a graduation party for my niece last weekend. It's a late one. She's homeschooled and wanted to maximize attendence by having her party after all her friends parties were over with. Good idea!
Us aunts, uncles and cousins sat out on their back deck and joked around the whole afternoon. Enjoying the cake, nachos, sno cones and chocolate fountain with fruit. Having us on the deck kept us jokers away from the main party in the garage, which was probably a good thing.
To pass the time, my SIL, Cathy started daring the kids to do things. Maddy joined the fray and agreed to do one of the dares. Since Maddy is so shy anyway, it took Cathy $5 to make this happen.
Here was the dare... The next time anyone came out the back door of the garage into the back yard, Maddy was supposed to jump up and run to them saying, "I haven't seen you forever! It's so good to see you!" and hug them.So eventually someone came out and we had all forgotten about it until Maddy jumped up, ran down the deck stairs and hugged some strange old woman. The woman was shocked and kept saying "WHO are you?!" Maddy was laughing and explained the dare. The woman lives across the back alley and thought it was pretty funny!
She asked Maddy to do the same thing to her husband when he came out. Of course we didn't know of this and were yet surprised again when Maddy jumped up and did the same thing to an old man that came out of the garage. He held her off tho and didn't hug her. His sense of humor was a bit different than his wifes...
Later on, when the younger girls, Meri and Sabrina, begged for a dare, Cathy dared them to go into the garage and start singing a Taylor Swift song really loud. They went in and mistakenly asked the graduate if they could... They were turned down.
