Wednesday Wamblings...

Did anyone else have kids that had to go to speech therapy when they were in grade school? 2 of my kids had to as they were saying a couple letters wrong while speaking. Trust a teacher to spot what parents thought was cute... One of my girls came home from school one day and told me that a new girl thought she had moved here from England because apparently my daughter sounded like she had an English accent! Needless to say, she took the speech therapy a bit more seriously after that. I've still got her adorable little girl voice taped here somewhere...

My clients computer is mostly back to normal now. I'm not a computer guru, so your computer pleas fall on deaf ears... (and really they do, because I do have some hearing loss...) I'll say, Ummm try plugging this in. But if you use the same programming language that I know, I'm there... My job in this debacle was to put their programs and partially corrupted data back on their new computer so they could get back to work quicker. I guess if you didn't marry the Nerd Herd or Geek Squad as I have, you better give Best Buy a call...

While I was at Taekwondo last night, someone said they spotted a funnel cloud forming just outside our town! No sirens went off, or I definitely would have heard that... Can't kick my way out of that one, huh?

**************

Anyone have gall stones before?

***************

Maddy had a few friends over to watch a movie on Monday night and hang out on the deck for a while. She made chocolate no bake cookies that didn't hold together. My guess is they cooked for too long on top of the stove. I poured all the crumbs into baggies and have been snacking on them. Pretty good... But I'm thinking they would taste even better sprinkled over ice cream...

Ok - enough rambling. Got things to do, people to see, hedgehogs to feed... Have an awesome Wednesday!

I had my gallbladder removed last October; I had a few teeny, tiny stones. Unfortunately, most people with stones have them worse than I did.

I think the humidity (storms you were having) is why the cookies fell apart. It's happened to me a few times.

I went to "remedial speech" as a kid. My problem was a slight lisp. My younger brother went because he pronounced his "ch"s as "sh"s.

Funnel clouds...don't miss those at all.

Well.....
As a certified SLP, you are not the first nor the last parent to say, "I thought it sounded cute." Had a student this year who has a BAD lateral lisp. He said he didn't want to correct it because he wouldn't sound like himself anymore. He changed his mind once a peer told him he sounded funny.
As for the cookies, agree with Annie Jones. These cookies are a lot like making fudge and there are some weather conditions that just don't work, humidity is one.

Mmmmm...cookie crumbs. Oh, great! Now I have SonyaAnn's Wicked Wednesday post in my head.

You are married to the Geek Squad? Cool.

I had my gallbladder out 25 years ago. Now that I know better I would not have done that...

No speech problems but DJ has some sort of writing problem that never got straightened out. They said it was a wiring problem. So his hand writing looks like a doctors.
I've had kidney stones, does that help? Stones hurt!
