Still can't tell? It's my daughter and two of her friends. It's a Tuesday night. Maddy wants to have some friends stay over because there is no drivers ed on Wednesday morning. So she finally finds a couple friends who are able.
They (me) build a fire in the fire pit. Meri and I enjoy a few marshmallows while the girls are on a walk, but then we leave them alone. Don't want to inhibit or interrupt their "girl" talk. They stayed at the fire until the last ember died, doused it like I asked and then dragged several sleeping bags out to the trampoline to camp out.
I "think" they were sufficiently soaked in bug spray but they still were covered with bites the next morning.
Maddy has done this one other time just after 4th or 5th grade, but we wouldn't let her stay out there alone with her friend at night, so I volunteered. So I slept on this thing once. ONCE. It was late summer almost fall. We saw lights in the woods and I was freaked out. Luckily it started raining around 2am and we went inside or I'm sure we would've had frozen dew on our hair or much worse...
I have camped out on top of hay bales, but I do have to say that the trampoline feels much more comfortable than hard poky hay.

Seriously what is the point of bug spray...ur right it doesn't work...I've been getting bit up real bad...worse ever...gross.....I love your zoom pic:) fun times!
Avon's Bug Guard works well for us when we go camping/hiking. So do the Cutter brand products. Then again, when we camp we sleep either in a tent or the camper, so night-time bugs aren't usually a problem for us.
Looks like they had fun anyway. :)
Ingenious. The mosquitoes just about carry us away when we walk out the door. In the pool is the only place where there is relief. Remember the mosquito spray trucks? They used to run through neighborhoods in the summer and we'd ride our bicycles right behind them! Where are those trucks now?
LOL...too funny!
Next time, IF there is a next time, have the girls eat alot of garlic for a couple of days. That should turn them into 'not-as-tempting' skeeter morsels.
I can't let my youngest see this picture or he'll be nagging me for a trampoline and wanting to have sleep-over on it.
On second thought....the idea of NOT having his friends keeping me up all night loudly playing xbox when they spend the night IS tempting....
;-)
I just read online that sometimes you need to put on bug spray every hour for it to work.
That sounds like a fun sleepover, though I would have opted for the floor or somewhere else that was bug free.
She's adventurous...I don't think I'd want to sleep on the trampoline even if I was a young one. :)
They were still IN those sleeping bags when you took this? HAHAHA!
That looks like it was a ton of fun! Since you are so good at sewing maybe you could make an enclosure for it? Just a thought.
My girls loved doing this but they never had much trouble with bugs!!
I'm not much for camping, never liked it. But it does look like they are having fun AND they did make it through the night out there!
