Can't focus on any ONE thing...

So it's a random day!

My birthday was on Saturday. Thank you.. thank you... After my husband told me how old I was (I can never remember...) he mentioned that we've been married for more of my life than not. Wow!

Went to our favorite Chinese restaurant for lunch on Sunday to celebrate and Meri got hot tea and then ice water dumped on her in the course of the meal. All over her new dress that she'd modeled in the day before... I hope it washes out before the next phase of the 4H judging. Um yeah - I haven't gotten to the laundry very hard yet since the weekend.

Maddy leaves tomorrow for 4 days in Wisconsin for Bible camp. I'm going to miss her! She and I went shopping last night for a new swimming suit for her and other various things she'll need while she's gone. Her hair is much shorter now. She got it cut two weekends in a row because she couldn't stand it.

On Friday we discovered that Ryan's hedgehog had fallen from the upper floor of the hedgehog cage and hurt itself so badly that it was comatose and near death. It didn't live much longer after we found it and Meri and Ryan were distraught. That's NOT hair the hedgehog is playing in. But a skuzzy rug in my son's room.
and then there was one hedgehog. We've modified the cage so she can't go upstairs at all... just in case. Ryan buried Penelope back in the woods next to our dog, Katy's grave. So this is where the emotion during the 4H judging came from for Meri the next day. This is Meri playing with the most gentlest dog we've ever owned. Shaved Golden Retriever, Katy.

I got some sewing done on Sunday. I made a purple corduroy hat out of a dress I found at the Salvation Army. I love shopping those stores just for the fabric! Here's the hat, disregard my bleary eyed appearance. It was early this morning and make up just doesn't go on unless I leave the house. Ain't happenin' today! Or at least not until after work and the puffiness will go away by that time...Oh good! You can't see my puffy eyes in this one!

Found that I hadn't done a finished edge on the exposed seams in Maddy's Easter dress, so I did an *after the fact* serging on the seam edges. I want to show this for the county fair and possibly state. I'm working on green baby doll type top for Meri that if it's good enough I'll enter it in the fair too. We'll see when it's done.Have a wildly random day!

Sorry about the hedgehog. I know how you can get attached to those things. Oh and I love the purple hat!

Happy belated birthday! And I'm sooo sorry about Penelope. Those tiny legs just can't take very much - they make me so nervous! I'm always afraid something is going to happen to ours (son's).

All the projects look wonderful, and omg.. have you been busy or what?! -Tammy

I can never remember how old I am either. I know the year... so I just do a little math in my head, but I always thought it odd I can't remember.

It's been a rough week. Sound like you might need a little break.
