Seems fair to me!

Maddy's performance at the State Fair last night was great! The entire Share The Fun show took over 1.5 hours and my bottom suffered greatly on those hard little benches... But we enjoyed all the acts anyway. Iowa kids are very creative and diverse in their talents! Then Meri and I hung around for another couple hours and saw the sights! We were surprised there were only a few rides there... but on the way home, we drove past the section that has ALL the rides! (kicking ourselves...) Meri took a flip on the trampoline thing again this year. We hunted down a poster that featured a photograph of kshotz for her, but they were sold out. So we got a mag with it in it - Sorry Kim! They told us that you could order one. Kshotz got an honorable mention on her photograph! We got supper at a joint of Meri's choosing and did a TON of walking. Did I say we walked a lot? wow. Our legs and feets are killing us today! And as usual, we ran into someone we knew near the butter cow. Weird isn't it? You go to a big place with tons of people more than hour from home and you see someone from home... We saw our neighbor at the Mall of America in Minneapolis one time. freaky... we NEVER see them at home!YES - BUTTER!
and ICE sculptures!
Found the Food Building! Didn't see Linda Burgett, but found her cookbook! I JUST discovered her blog last week and she said she would be there a lot during the fair. Of course, I didn't remember what she looked like, so I may have actually seen her... It was late in the day and I didn't want to use a porta-potty... The restrooms in this building were SO much nicer!Walked the mile or so to the car and then talked with Meri the whole way home. That was nice! I found out all about her first day of middle school. My baby may not be able to walk today, but she is growing up!Kids enjoying the spray fountain outside the Agricultural building. AWESOME apple cider slushies in there!
