SEW not a sewing post... Dogs.

I wish I had time this week to sew. I really do! It has been so busy that all my free time is filled with over excessive laundry, dishes, keeping up with the kids on their piano and homework... and of course house cleaning. AND it's premiere week on tv! Dang! All the good shows are coming back with a vengence.

The sewing can wait until this weekend... When I've got grocery shopping and a 4H parents night to attend to... Well - maybe Saturday afternoon and evening I can work on that jacket. I hope so.

Anyway - I'm so glad the pizza stone is looking so pretty right now. I leave it sit out on the counter so I can admire it and have people ask, "Oh! Did you get a new stone?" HA! NO! I must have been a hoot for my mom when I was potty training. I'm such a show off of my successes!

We're out of dog food. And I am determined NOT to go into Sam's Club or any store until Saturday. So last night and this morning I improvised... Here's the recipe and my dogs are eating it up literally. We have to feed them individually in their respective kennels when they're fed so they won't try to bully more food off the other 2.

Seriously, it's THAT good!

Well, I won't eat it...

I dumped the following into a bowl.

a cup or so of corn meal
a few cups of oatmeal
a couple cups of flour
about a few glugs of oil
about a cup of water or more to make it pancake batter-like consistency
any leftover meaty products from the fridge
an egg

mixed it all up and dumped it in a huge frying pan. Tried to fry it like a pancake, but it's too mushy. So flipped it in sections to get it cooked all the way through.

Separated it out on 3 paper plates. Yes, when serving our canines I break out the good china for them! Since we have to feed them individually, the general dog food dishes won't work. Let it cool for a little bit, then they practically inhaled it! Also made a couple loaves of bread over night and sliced it this morning. All the bread ends will be their lunch. Then more gruel mush for supper and breakfast.

My dogs love me.
