Easter weekend thoughts

What makes Good Friday a Great Friday? Chili dogs on the cheap at the DQ!!!

Yeah yeah... I told you that one last year... But it's our tradition. Tonight after the Tenebrae service at church, we'll be stopping for chili dogs on the way home. Maddy is playing the organ tonight at church for the whole service!

Silent Saturday, I plan to mow, finish Meri's dress, help Tiffany make a head band and then spend the afternoon watching The Passion of the Christ with anyone who wants to watch it with me. You available? The girls will be coloring the eggs in the morning. I think I have about 4 dozen...

Yep - We're a high cholesterol family!

Then Sunday morning, the men will be making breakfast at church before our service. And we'll have a spiral cut ham for a late lunch. Not sure if we'll have company for it or not. Actually it will kind of be nice just us... And I'm sure we'll be fitting in an Easter egg hunt somewhere in there. Meri might be the only one hunting, but that's ok!

How old is too old to go on an Easter egg hunt? I think you just have to be more creative on where you hide them! Hopefully it's not raining or we'll be finding a rotten egg in the piano bench around the 4th of July...

It's happened.
Have a blessed Easter!

My eyes play tricks on me every time I read your blog. This time I thought you had written "spiritual cut ham"...

That movie is difficult to watch. I've seen it once and I just can't bring myself to do it again. :(
Anyway, have a great Easter.

I think that Annie needs glasses!
It sounds like another busy weekend! I was told by DJ that dying eggs and hunting didn't sound like fun. So it's a no go since Anna isn't coming home this weekend. She decided to stay at school since I will be picking her up on the 5th anyways. If she was here, she would do the egg hunt. Hell, she would do it until she was 30.
Happy Easter weekend!

Today I got free coffee at Starbucks AND Caribou! (Man, am I hyper!) ;) That's because it's Earth Day and I brought my own mug...lucky me Good Friday and Earth Day fall on the same day!

In honor of Good Friday, though, my fam and I will go watch "Passion of the Christ" at my church tonight. Rated R for the violent scenes of the crucifixion, but I have teenagers so we'll be okay. :)

Have a blessed Easter, Val!

My kids hunted eggs into their late teens. My MIL put money in the eggs and our kids didn't get to old for that. Until grandbabies came along, then I think the kids thought it would be weird. LOL!

Happy Easter to you and your family!

I love that pic of the Easter Lily...I just love them!

My kids would still do an easter egg hunt if I let them. They used to love doing that! I am going to fill some plastic eggs with jelly beans and M&Ms, then after church, my folk are coming over and we are going to grill out steak. No ham for us this year! ;)

We have filled eggs for Nathaniel with jelly beans and pb eggs and will 'hide' them in plain site plus we got him a basket of little things.
