Dying for an Ipad?

I read this article the other day about Chinese workers who are committing suicide because of their jobs.

hmm.. I have a job... I was interested. I read on...

Here is the article.

They work in Ipad factories in China. Apparently the work conditions are so bad, they may work for 13 days with no days off, standing on their feet all day and not allowed to talk to their co-workers during working hours... They're being forced to sign pledges NOT to kill themselves.

You know why they're committing suicide?

Westerners. That's US! Everyone is America is dying (or rather killing) for an Ipad these days!

Supply & Demand is off.the.hook...
I don't have an Ipad. And I don't think I need to stress out a Chinese worker to get one... So I'll do without.

I do have an Ipod. And it's pretty cool... I'm just wondering how many Bothans Chinese workers died to bring me this Ipod.

I ran this past my husband to see if I appeared racist... Because I'm NOT! I'm concerned that people are getting so stressed out about my wants & needs that they're killing themselves...

You know what he said?

What did Bothans ever do to you?

Just one more reason that I don't buy iAnything.

(Although my other electronics were probably made by other suicidal workers in other countries.)

But thanks to the prices of an I-pad I can wait for it come down in price. As in way down in price.

That's just unbelievable. We live such sheltered lives here in the US, we just don't realize what a blessed people we are.

Heck, I have a computer...that's it!
I don't even have my own cell phone and ya know what? Uninterrupted outings are wonderful! :o)

God bless ya and have a marvelous Mother's Day weekend!

this is really a sad, sad commentary on the state of the world and our priorities!!!

I think all of us could get on just fine without one so that another person could live!

And yes, I had to google "Bothans"
