I'm getting old. I have no idea what I did on Friday night... No wait, yes I do. I worked on the ASG sewing newsletter. Meri frantically worked on a dress that she'd been making for the sewing challenge on Saturday morning.
So Saturday, she and I went to our ASG sewing meeting. The challenge was to show something made from the fabric from the free tables that we have each month. Neither of us won a prize for that, but I did win a door prize!
It's a sleeve roll tailor's ham! You can use it to iron sleeve seams or wherever a regular sized ironing board just won't do. Cool! I've got a bigger rounder one for shoulder type things, but this will be perfect for those cuffs and stuff.
The speaker that morning was the entrepreneur from locally owned Wallypop.net. She talked about how she started her business of making homemade diapers, baby slings and loads of other things. All the items were so cute!!! And she was funny! I've been inspired to make baby diapers again... But I have no babies... Oh well. I can always try to sell them I guess...On Saturday evening I actually got to organize my sewing area and do a little sewing for MYSELF! I never get to do that! I cut out the Hudson pants from The Sewing Workshop. Judged the sizing by the measurements and wow was I off! Apparently they allow an extra 10 inches around your butt for ease. I could have used these for clown pants if they had been brighter in color... The ones I'm making are medium to dark blue.I've got another sewing meeting tonight. The one where we do all patterns except the big 4 pattern makers. I probably won't try them on for these ladies, because that would just be too embarrassing and a wee bit revealing.
On Sunday, we attended a high school graduation party, skipped another because I forgot and then had my friends over for our monthly card making party. Here are the cards that we made. Since my mother in law wasn't feeling well, she asked me to make her cards too, so I took twice as long as everyone else!
Also got to show the puppies off to some friends who stopped by while we were making cards.
And you know what? Some laundry sat unnoticed in the washer all weekend... I just ran it again to freshen it up. *shaking my head* *everyone loves clothes with a rank scent, don't they?*
What did you do this weekend?

Don't you just hate it when you forget laundry? Sometimes I try to pass it off, but it just doesn't work.
The puppies are the cutest things.
Yay for your win. I need one of those things.
ahahaha......i hate when the laundry sitting happens...ew....i always make that face too:) i think u should make lots of baby items...i'm obsessed! i had a brain fart this morning and had no idea what to post about:) PS: it's me vic....i just realized i'm still on my other account:) enjoy the week
You sound like you had a semi-relaxing weekend....at least compared to your past weekends.lol
I played bumper cars on Friday(and lost). I then took painkillers for the rest of the weekend and tried to stay in bed. bleh.
Oh puppies!! Puppy smell should be bottled. It is just happiness personified.
And I have done the very same thing with laundry.
You are the most talented blogger I know. Seriously.
The puppies get cuter every post!
I found the BEST cure for sour laundry. Just, don't tell my hubby. He's a hunter and keeps his "Scent Lock" laundry soap in the laundry closet. (He is the super neat-freak who is VERY PARTICULAR - especially about his hunting stuff! He does his own hunting stuff, because it has to be "just so." He is not so particular that he would do his own laundry, however...just particular about how I do it. If he knew I EVER had sour laundry I would hear about it, trust me...) Well, I've put that laundry soap in sour laundry I've left in the washer and *Walla*! It not only locks scent...it cancels out ALL BAD SCENTS!!!! It probably costs a fortune, but it has saved me once or twice...
I do that stuff with laundry all the time. :(
Those cards are awesome!
Sewing and puppies, life is good!
O.k. seriously....I want one of those puppies! They are just melting my heart!!!
blessings,
Jill
My problem is remembering that I left the clothes in the dryer. By the time I remember them, they are so wrinkle, I have to wash them again.
You can put vinegar in the fabric softener tray of your washer and run the rinse cycle. I also put vinegar in the regular smelly loads as well. Works GREAT and it is cheap.
Luckily we are not neighbors...otherwise I'd have kidnapped those puppies, mcVal!
So cuuuute!!!
What cute puppies. I'd so love to have one!! I really need to dig my sewing machines out--I just need to remember where I need to dig them out from!! I find myself forgetting more and more lately--laundry, where I'm going when I'm in the car, keys--etc!!
We planted a smallish garden this past weekend. Hope you're having a great week. Take care.
I bet you were kicking yourself about the laundry - I've done that a time or five
