Do you know how hard it is sometimes to carve a few minutes out of your day to work on your hobbies?
My mom & dad are going on a cruise with my sister and her family the end of this month and my sister asked that I sew a couple pairs of shorts for Mom. Okie Doke! I got Mom's measurements this past weekend when we were there and started thinking about it. On Monday I had a few minutes so I went thru my stash and found this awesome purple fabric.
It's very flowing and looks nice. I also found some matching print fabric for a blouse. I found this blouse on Sewn Wardrobes blog last week and thought it would make a good looking top for a skirt or a pair of shorts. Luckily there's enough purple stuff for both skirt & shorts and I THINK enough of the print for the top!So yesterday over lunch, after I made sure the kids were fed and I had a little something to eat, I spent 15 minutes and cut out the skirt. Then made sure there was enough left for the shorts and pockets for both before I dashed back to my office in the garage. Maybe today I can cut out the shorts and pockets over lunch.

I like that top! Please post a pic of yours when you get it done.
Pretty. Give me some motivation, please? I've had two days of nothing to do and I've sewn maybe two hours. What's up with that? I'm spending most of my time catching up on blogs. Yeah.
Lord, yes, I know that feeling well. There is never enough time in the day to sew. I am waiting on some fabric to get here and hopefully the planets will align and I will be able to work on a few projects.
Love the purple fabric... that's going to be very cute!
I wanna see when you're done! It's gonna be adorable!!
I don't know how you do it all! And I would love to see pictures when its done!
Well you got me beat at 15 mins.
All I've done is take projects out, measure daughter's crotch and pin something....and that all took 5 months!lolol
Hooray for 15 minute baby steps! I have to keep reminding myself that's the only way to get some things done. Including sewing :) Pretty fabric, and love the top design! You can Doooo it!! -Tammy
I hope you post photos when they're finished--the outfit's going to be so cute!
i truly wish i had a minute to do these kinds of projects...ur awesome! i would have said, go buy some pairs:) LOL
Your story reminded me of Inspector Gadget? Do you remember that cartoon? Goo Go Gadget and he'd be doing multiple things.
Can't wait to see the results.
