Fair Remnants

You know how I got the purple rosette State Fair Selection ribbon for the prom dress at the county fair?

Of course you do! I've only been talking about it non-stop for 3 days... I know! I know! I'll shut up about it in a minute...

We went to the fairgrounds last night to pick up the kids photography and other projects as well as my open class stuff. I had to call a friend who is in charge of the open class stuff to find out what to do with my state fair selection.

You know what? They had put the wrong purple rosette on my dress! :)

Open class doesn't go to State! hmm..

Well, it's going anyway!

She offered to switch it to the right ribbon if I wanted.

Nah! I'm going to hang this one on my sewing room wall! When I get one.
I was wondering what 5 entries to send on Saturday anyway, so now I know at least two! This and the duffle bag. I also have that baby jumper, but I've been flummoxed by the button holes and how to finish them. Maybe between tonight and tomorrow night I can figure it out.

I'm also going to go through all the clothes that I've made for the girls to see if anything else is State Fair quality.

Like, finished seams. No stray threads hanging around. No stains...

As Belle's father said in Beauty and the Beast...

"It's time to leave girl! I'm OFF to the fair!"

Well... on Saturday...

We enter in the state fair, no county fair preliminaries here. Ours isn't until October and it's usually still too hot then.

Holy cow I am behind already!

Yay for those ribbons! That dress is amazing! And you can still send it to state? That is very, very cool.
