I worked on the wedding dress hem again last night. ALMOST done with the lining hem when the bobbin ran out. Got it refilled and then got sidetracked... I had thought of a book that I had loved as a teen, thought Meri might like it and asked Robb to order it for me from Amazon. It came yesterday and last night, Meri and I curled up on my bed and I read her 5 chapters from it! Then another chapter this morning.
Did I tell you I love this book?! I think I must have reread it a dozen times as a kid. So far, she likes it too. Comedy, romance, teens, mystery, villains. Perfect...
Football game tonight at the high school. I'll stay until after the half time marching band performance, but then I'm outta there. I mean... the game is getting more interesting for me since I understand how most of it works now... but I'd really rather go home and put the dogs outside.
Eh, priorities...
Tomorrow we pick up the Freecycle preemie clothes for my sister! On the way, I'm going to bring along Meri's dress and finish the handwork on it. In case you were wondering, I won't be driving...
On the way home, I'm going to get a new battery for my cell phone. I love US Cellulars free battery exchange. And NO I'm not advertising, I'm just sayin'.
My cell phone went out of warranty last Thursday. Wouldn't you just know it?! I should have called them last week when I noticed that it randomly shuts off. Especially after you slam the cover down or drop it... But yesterday noticed that even after having it on the charger all night, it ran out of juice by 8am. And I hadn't even made any calls!
I love my cell phone, but GUY!!!
Maddy is back on her "You'll never see me" schedule. I have no idea when we'll celebrate her birthday next month. Probably during the pasta feed that we're helping with the night before. Yeah!!! Have 30 cross country kids sing Happy Birthday to her! hmm.. I'll have to work something out with the other parents we're collaborating with. And Maddy, if you read this, Nothing is going on!
My son's new night job of almost 2 weeks now seems to be working out well for him. He gets to our house with my car every morning almost just in time for me to drive Meri to school, then he sleeps until whenever. I don't think he's getting enough sleep but who am I to say? I'm one who would complain about not enough sleep if I got 10 hours. WHICH I never do...
Looking forward to getting away from this computer for the weekend! If I'm lucky, I'll have 3 of the dresses done this weekend! and then have next week to finish or rework mine.
The wedding is in t-minus 15 days.
My sanity will be gone in t-minus 4 days. And my family is looking forward to me being all the way crazy. That way all my conversations will entertain them.
Right now, they just wince because it's all about me whining about not having enough hours in the day to sew.

You know if you weren't reading you would have time to finish those dresses! LOL Just joking!! I'm amazed at all the things you juggle and you know I have lots of respect for you and your talent! I wish you all the best and I really hope you can get some sleep soon!
By the way is that book appropriate for a 10 year old? I may look it up at the library to read to Hayley :-) Thanks!
Have a great weekend!
Blessings,
Jill
Hi, I just love people who have wild lives like mine, it makes me feel so normal, good luck with your 101 list of things to do remember ........ no reading..... no computors
I know why we seem to click so well - we're so similar. When I have a ton to do, what do I do? I blog about it before I tackle it.
Well, you probably don't do what I do...
I blog about it first.
Then, I usually eat some ice cream. (Out of the container...unless my kids are around...because they can't have ice cream unless it's a special occasion or family movie night...how does all that ice cream disappear like that?) ;)
THEN, I check my Facebook.
THEN, I check and see if anyone has commented on my blog post.
(If they have, then I usually go to their blog and comment on theirs.)
...and then - and only then - I tackle my to-do list.
Crazy, crazy, crazy...
Now, I better go tackle my crazy to-do list.
I've got a crazy week!
