Wednesday Wambles and Crafts

I was going to only talk about the 1995 movie, The Net, but decided eh. I feel random. Remember Sandra Bullock in it? She was a bit "hippy" in those pants, but it was a great movie! That movie made me want to work from home SO badly... And I was even in that field of computers, so it would have been perfect! Watching it nowadays with the technology the way it's advanced, makes me laugh a little. Remember 3.5 floppies? Dial up modems? And back then we thought it was SOOO high tech! Kind of like Star Wars when it first came out. Makes me wonder what people in another 16 years will think of our current technology...

Now that I'm in that kind of job myself, it is pretty great. I just wonder how much laundry Sandra had to get caught up with on HER breaks...

The other big news around here is that the phones are quiet. As you may or may not know, I live in Iowa. The state known for insisting on being the first caucus in the GOP race for presidency. Not that Iowa has even chosen a winner in a really long time... But the caucuses (or is it caucii?) are over!!! I won't have to scramble for the phones every few minutes and hang up on someone. I don't like being rude, but I have found that hanging up on a recording is ok.

The girls have been crafty over their Christmas break. Maddy has discovered Pinterest and sent herself an invite from my account. When we were at JoAnns on Monday, she stocked up on some supplies that she'd need for a few projects. The first one is made from crayon coloring a picture onto sand paper. Then you iron it onto the t-shirt. She discovered that apparently you have to color REALLY heavily to make it work. She showed a friend how and did the same project later and it turned out awesome!

The second one is made by writing all over a white tee with washable childrens glue. Let it dry a REALLY long time and then use RIT dye.
Wash it really well and voila! You've got a unique t-shirt!

Meri's says, If you don't like my attitude, Go Away!
Maddy's is a quote from the book Little Women. We attended an ISU womens basketball game and got to watch Maddy's high school pep band play during the breaks in the game. They sounded great and since Maddy was down in front, a camera man caught her a few times on the big screen! So yeah, she's famous now...

We also did a little stalking and took extreme zoom lens pics of some friends who were either seated on the floor or way across the way. Robb and I were in the cheap nosebleed seats.

Some neighbors and coincidentally our mayor. And yes, he's wearing a Star Trek top...
Some former neighbors.
Maddy working on getting her mallets out of her sweater. Her friend down there stuck them in it...
Ah... with friends like these?

My question is, did you braid Maddy's hair? It's so pretty!

It's so cool how your girls like to create like you!
And I love her braid too!
