Bye Bye Baby! Good bye!

Well... The pups are mostly gone!  One by one, tear by tear, each pup was torn from Meri's loving arms and thrust into the arms of the prospective buyers until finally they were all off with their new "forever" families.  She's crying all the way to bank...
It is amazing how many people love love LOVE Golden Retrievers!  I think I heard over 5 stories about how their beloved Golden just passed away 6 months ago or last year and they've missed her/him so.
Got me worrying and thinking... What's killing them off?!
Meri got a picture with each one of them before they left and then the pup with its new family too.  She's doing a scrapbook for 4H this year.

Our 4H club also had their Achievement show yesterday which includes bopping around to each home to see various projects that can't come to the cook out at the end of the day, like sheep or dogs.  We had to skip quite a few of the homes (we have a big club) in order to meet buyers back at the house who wanted to see the puppies.  At one point, our entire club was on our lawn hearing Meri and Maddy talk about their projects and the buyers got to listen in.  They couldn't actually get their hands on a puppy until the mass group of kids left to go to the next house.
So all the puppies have been sold now except for one that has been spoken for.  They come today to pick up Howard.  Maddy was really hoping Howard would be the last one, because he's a cuddler and her favorite.
They say Golden Retrievers are really smart and I'm beginning to believe them!
They helped Maddy Skype some friends who are off to camp.

Since it's just one left, I've had him go out in the back yard with the bigger dogs and play when they go out.  He's pretty disgusted that he can't go in the house like they can tho when they're done playing.

Oh well...

Ten gallons of bleach later...  It's been an adventure yet again.  They were awfully cute, but it's nice to have our garage and sanity back for just a little while.  Meri already has her sights set on next years batch!
