It really wasn't as hot as 100 degrees like the weather man said it was going to be on Saturday. I think it was more like 87 or so in the morning, so rather balmy!
I went with Robb to the parade and between me dropping him off with his band and the parade starting I was able to find a couple garage sales! One was a complete jack pot on movies! 6 VHS movies for $1 and they were all classics! Maddy has just discovered the Rocky movies with a friend, so I called her to see if she wanted the whole set. Y.E.S!!! score.
I also found Ferris Buellers Day Off, Better Off Dead, Joe vs The Volcano to name a few... Just had to steal the cable from the Tivo to make the VCR work again! The girls have had a great time with them so far.
Enjoyed the parade and then went home to rest up and get ready to hit the fairgrounds with the girls.
The temps headed upwards to around 95 but who's counting?
All the clothes I entered were on one rack... You know why?! I was the only one *again* to enter anything in Open Class! Reminds me of high school all over again... I was the only graduate the year I graduated.
And no I didn't leave that sentence unfinished...
You thought I was going to say, the only graduate that got a 4.0 or something for a grade point average. NOPE! I wasn't even that! I was the only one. Solo. Alone. Friendless... Ok I kid on the last one! But my bestest friends WERE my sisters...
Maddy's prom dress got top award!! Of course, I was competing with myself...
Meri's toilet paper roll artwork got Judges Favorite award! They also liked that she recycled.
Then we went around the rest of the fairground, visited the bunnies...
Visited the bottle bucket calves...
Visited a baby pool full of baby chicks and Meri couldn't resist.
Then saw which beauty got the Fair Queen title! Maddy had 5 friends in the running...
One would think it's fairly lonely at the top...
Not really...

Which one are you in that gaggle of girls in the last photo?
And congratulations on the award(s). You don't need to tell anybody that you were the only one entered!
m.
So how many on to state? I think you said two but not sure....Oh and which ones?
Looking forward to your email ;o)
Maddy dyed her hair!! It looks great!
I love that TP roll art...I've been wanting to do it but I'm lazy.
Congrats on all the wins! :) Look at those girls supporting one another. Hopefully, they'll stay like that & remain life-long friends. Happy Monday! :)
That artwork is amazing!!!! And I am excited for your awesome garage sale finds!
That was a total score at the garage sale. Ferris Bueller......I love him. Congrats on your wins!!!! You deserve them!
So glad to know we aren't the only family who still watches VHS tapes.
...and Maddy's hair! I love it!!
...and I swear next year will be the year I enter something in the county fair here. But what? That is the question.
So you were the valedictorian of your class. You really are impressive!
Great job on winning so much at the fair!;)
