I haven't had much sleep lately, nor any time to myself. The sewing machines sit forlornly on a dining room table that is progressively getting stacked up with new school clothes, book bags and wrappings of the new school clothing items that have been delivered to the house.
I think my last project is under it all. I plan to find out at lunch. I won't be able to sew, but it will comfort me to know that the top I'm making, still has a sleeve somewhere...
I mean.. I don't mind... eventually... but I just want a couple hours to sew when someone isn't saying, "Do you know where this is?" or "I need 6 dozen cookies by tomorrow morning!" or "What puked up here??!" or "I've got a shopping cart all filled, you just need to come pay for it!" or "WAHH!! I need Grandma!"
I just want to turn on my shattered Ipod that still works, plug in the head phones and become comPLETELY deaf to the world around me and create something beautiful!
The only thing wrong with the sewing group is that the one day a month they meet is on a Sunday night from 6-8... Wow... That's the one night our family gets together. ALL of us (that can stand each other) for dinner. Kind of a regrouping before tackling a new week. The diningroom table is cleared off most of those nights and we eat as a family instead of fragments of it around the kitchen L-shaped eating counter. I'm trying to get the "Let's try a new recipe Sundays" night started up again.
I miss those.
But I'm wondering if my sanity needs to get out of the house for two hours instead...

I love and miss our family dinners. Still try to get together 1x a month with Flyboy and LBB when they are available.
Enjoy every moment!

I hope you can find time to work out both. That time to do your thing is just as important as that family time.
That's a tough call. I'm pretty adamant about eating supper as a family AND about having my "me time". When I was growing up, our big meal on Sunday was always at around 2:00. I wonder if you could work out an arrangement like that and still be free for your sewing group.
It's not about the projects, it's about enjoying the moments.
Remember to do that and life is good :o)
Well I just want whatever is in that pan.
