An Eagle Overhead

The next morning, we met Mom and Dad in the main floor restaurant for the continental breakfast.  Nothing fancy, but they did bring out some watermelon later which was nice!  

A little shopping and then we settled back at our rooms to iron the clothes, do hair, etc.

Headed out to the venue for the wedding that afternoon.  My brother had said that you go to Baseline road and go straight up the mountain to get to the spot.

Yeah... He said straight!  Here is what mapquest said it was...

I took some pics of the scenery on the way up before I realized I could very well run out of camera battery before the end of the wedding, so I cooled my jets on photos... And besides, mentioning the scenery while Robb had white knuckles gripping the steering wheel on the switchbacks, wasn't really a good thing...

We got there early enough to visit with family before it started.  A nephew had flown in from Wisconsin and he sat with us so we could pick on him easily. ;) This photo is actually immediately following the wedding, but the only other photos I have of Adam are from the reception.

 The groom had an extra pink tie and bowtie available that he'd rented, so Robb and Dad snapped those up and looked quite dashing!  I found a website to buy some and am thinking Christmas...

And then the music began...

The grandparents were ushered in.

The men came in and then the girls.  Two of these are nieces and a grandniece!

And then the music switched to Canon in D, a song from OUR wedding!  and everyone stood up.  My newest niece to be strolled down the path with her father.  So beautiful!

 As her husband to be watched her arrive with love in his eyes.

It was a beautiful ceremony.  Adam, the nephew we were picking on, even noticed a bald eagle fly overhead during the vow portion and pointed it out to us.  He said, "It's all so stinking perfect!" and makes him want to get married even more. 

And the rings fit!

  

You may kiss the bride!  and he did...

 

After the ceremony, Adam said, "If I was a 15 year old girl, I'd so go up there and take some pictures of the altar thingy and the view."

 

I said, "Why not?!"  So he and I did.

 

 One of my nieces with my grand nephew.  I got my baby fix in!!!!  Caleb and I went and touched the pointy trees until he begged to go back to mommy.

The receiving line was up the hill.  Then back down to the ceremony spot for wedding pictures.

 I loved the stone benches!  The first couple rows had blankets all spread out so the ladies wouldn't snag their dresses.  I appreciated that!

Tomorrow, the grand reception!  and it really really was!
