Same as the title of my blog...

Check out my progress!!!
Two steps forward, 24 steps back.

Remember when I mentioned randomly that I'd bought a new kitty litter box and wondered if our cats had figured it out yet?  Well... there was a door on it...

So they didn't.

I have since taken the door off of it and shoved them in there a few times so they'll know where they're supposed to go.

Last night when I gathered my dress off the dining room table, ready to add the last sleeve and permanently stitch in the first one... I noticed it smelled funny and was a little damp...

Remember that scene in National Lampoon's Vacation movie?

Yeah... except it was cats...

Ok, no big deal...  I put it in the washing machine, cleaned the table up REALLY well.  I can deal!!!

The dress came out of the washing machine...

Remember when I mentioned that the dress was well fitted, and I was dieting so it wouldn't pop a seam when I sat down?

Well, check this out!

Yep... the seam allowances were shredded down to the stitches in most places.  If I even breathe wrong in this dress, it'll pop a seam and I'll be at this fabulous wedding wearing nothing but the lining...

Reason #12 for why you should finish seams with SOMETHING.

also

Reason #162 for why I should not have cats.

If you're a cat lover, then I'm sorry!!!  Nothing personal against you!  But I'm going to be angry with ours for a good long time...

Oh and last week, I had the pattern for this dress in a box and they wet on it too...  I chalked it up to "that's what happens when you have pets" and threw it away, thinking it'll be a cold day in hell when I make this dress again anyway...

Well... Today is that cold day...

I will be purchasing new fabric and the pattern (again) to remake the dress.  and NOTHING is going to keep me from getting it mostly done tomorrow night.

Knock on desk...  *it's made of wood...*

All I can say is "Bless your heart." Truly. Hope you get the dress done soon!

You know that I'm a cat lover, but I certainly know how frustrating it can be when a cat won't train or breaks training. I feel for you...and admire you for starting over on the dress. Me? I'd be heading to the store to buy one at this point.

OH.NO.! LMBO!!!! Val, I am dying. And I am NEVER buying a liter box with a door. haha! I am not a cat person, so I feel for ya. I'm still struggling with taking care of the liter box for my son's birthday present... and I think if she used ANYTHING other than her liter box to do her business, birthday present or not, that cat would dead! LOL. ;)

Holy Frijoles! Now that, my friend, is definitely a Sew Not My Day kind of post. So, so sorry about the cat mishap. Personally, I love animals. And dearly love my dog (I devoted an entire post to him today!) BUT...I really don't like having them in the house. It's just another bodily function / hairy mess I don't want to deal with daily. Sending you well-wishes for an easy sewing day. ((HUGS))

I admire the fact that you can even make a dress. I can do curtains, pillows, super hero capes, blankets but thats it for sewing.

See? You don't say NO enough.....I'm just sayin......lolz

They'd be ex-cats or at the very least OUTDOOR cats by now if it was me.

You poor thing. I think that you need to figure out which cat is being naughty and then find it a new home. Just a thought. And I have a cat so I can say that.

Sending up a prayer for you! Nothing like a little cat pee to ruin a good day. Yes....I am a former cat owner :)

I would say something about the cat except I'm having the same problem with an unneutered male dog. But at least he's peeing/spraying on carpet, not the table ;o)
