Got several things taken out to my stash in my office... which now needs to get organized, but that's not for now...
I actually turned ON the sewing machine and iron last night!!! It's a princess seam dress, so I did 4 bust areas last night. Two on the fabric and two on the lining and sewed those two together.
Forgot to put the slit in the front, so the seam ripper will need to come into play this weekend...
So the front of the dress is mostly done! I don't suppose I could just duck tape the front on my front and just stand against a wall, do you? Probably not...
Items to complete on it.
1) shoulder things.
2) back
3) zipper - which I need to pull out from the first version... JoAnns didn't have the one I wanted.
4) hem
Then stand back and wonder what else I could do to make it look jazzier! And wonder if I can do a binding on my waist area instead of more salads...
The Shantung silk fabric that I purchased this time, is less drapey than the earlier version of this dress that I did in a linen-like poly. BUT it was more expensive! So it should look better when done, right??
right???
Looking forward to more sewing tomorrow!

The other day I had to get a new pair of pants and I noticed when I got em home that they have a control panel thingy on the waist? I immediately decided it was cheese pizza for dinner.
"It should look better when done, right?"
I say yes!.....as long as you can keep it in a cat-free zone until the wedding.
Just say NO to cat pee!lol
I love this dress - the long version would be great for Flyboy's wedding.
Enjoy your weekend!

Yeah, it's gonna be gorgeous! I vote for Spanx instead of putting in a waist thingy. ;) Can't wait to see the finished dress. Happy Friday night! Hope you're sewing!
I was going to tell you about Spanx but see that someone else beat me to it. So make it two votes for Spanx. They really are great!
I have made this dress several times. I would go for spanx it will look better.
spanx power panties! Only $30ish dollars and you can use them under the many dresses I'm sure you will be wearing over time!
