I took Leon to the voting booth with me early this morning and almost got to peek in on someone else's voting ballot when trying to retrieve him from crawling away. Did YOU know 8 months old is too young to vote in my county?? I think it's because they can't stay in the lines for those little circles... and the pens are too big for their hands to handle.
I got to sew last night!!! For all of 10 minutes. But it was enough to set two sleeves on a jacket I started eons ago. It'll get there. Just a lined hood, zipper and hems in the sleeves and waist to go! Maybe over my lunch today!! But I doubt it.
I was inspired after taking a few minutes to actually look through October's Burda magazine. I wanted to sew something and Leon was downstairs with Grandpa and Daddy. It worked out! AND I figured out why the bobbin was eating all the thread. Sometimes you just have to rethread a few things and suddenly things start working like they're supposed to!
Earlier that evening, Leon and I raked through all my sewing mags out in the hall. I browsed through looking for Christmas gift ideas while keeping him from climbing through the railing or grabbing a cats tail.
The aftermath of Hurricane Leon
He finally settled down to be content with crinkling and tearing up some pages that I gave him while doing some gleeful screaming at the top of his lungs. His voice echoes throughout the house from that perspective and sounds cool! and loud... He had a blast and so did I.

Hurricane Leon is adorable but a bit destructive!
We don't have a home phone so we don't get any annoying calls. I'm so glad that we are cheap!
Holy crap! You didn't vote for me?!
lol
Mimi brought me here. Read your comments about "secretly" hoping your son's team wouldn't make it to the playoffs. Too funny. I just had to drop by and tell ya that. As for sewing. Gosh but I wish I could sew. Have two left hands and I've tried but it just won't work with me.
Yes - I agree horray for the silence!

Oh, those rails would scare me to death. Ethan always goes with me. He has a collection of "I Voted" stickers on his bedroom door. I wish my parents had taken me so I wouldn't have been so petrified about not knowing what to do when I finally got old enough to vote. Keep taking him!
I was never brave enough to take my babies with me when I voted years ago! You go girl!
