Thankful for Monday. Wait! What day is it?

Today is going to be a total rush...

ASG sewing newsletter to finish that should have been done Saturday...

LOTS of deadlines for work

Need to run kids to appointments this afternoon.

BUT... Here is our Thanksgiving rundown!

On Thursday, we celebrated Thanksgiving at home with lots of food.  And I mean lots.  Robb's brother and part of his family came to enjoy it with us.  Leon was here!  Later on after a bit of the food had digested, Robb got 4 more turkeys going for our bigger family reunion on Friday.  He had the smoker, 2 roasters and the oven working their little hearts out!

I opted to NOT do any more pies and decided that enough people were going to bring desserts.  I was right.

We left the dogs at the local kennel and took off for my old home town, getting there around 9:30am.  We left way early!  Leon stayed behind with his dad, because his mom was going to pick him up soon and he had been feeling sick anyway.

Found the hall that I'd reserved and found that the tables looked kind of yucky and needed tablecloths badly... Robb got the items into the hall and the girls and I took off with the car to track them down.  After 3 Dollar type stores and a Fareway, we finally found what we were looking for at Dollar General.  Those round ones are hard to find!

This is little Stevie.  Named after, yes, Stevie Nicks!  She's such a cutie, but would NOT let me pick her up...  I wasn't able to get my baby fix with her...

Zoomed back to the hall about the time some sisters and aunts started showing up.

At one time, I think we had about 15 cooks in the kitchen.

There was a double oven and someone accidentally turned the one that had the ham in it off an hour or so before it was done.  OOPS!  Oh well.  We had to wait an extra 20 minutes to begin the meal anyway, so it all worked out.

Good thing we had so many cooks and helpers because it was a challenge to get all the food to the table about the same time.  Don't even ask me about the chocolate chip gravy...  And thank you so much Teresa with your diligence on that!!!

GREAT TIME!  Got a lot of visiting in with one of my fave cousins!  I didn't get a picture of her.  darn.  She's deaf but can read lips pretty well if you're looking directly at her.  So the only time to visit is while you're eating and chewing while you talk.  We think she should get a job with law enforcement to read lips of people on security cameras!  There's a market for that I'm sure!  I saw it on a show once.

Had an abbreviated talent show from the kids and then everyone helped like crazy to get the hall cleaned up and out by 5:30.

Meri played The Phantom of the Opera!

I think the head count was around 81.

After the big dinner, we all rushed to attend the wedding reception for my nephew and his new bride that got married last month in Colorado!  They had the reception at a grand movie theater and in the actual theater showed a slideshow of the event from last month.  Pretty cool!

Got more visiting in with as many as I could too.  Found out from one nephew in law that Robb and I were his favorites!  I think he was lying and someone paid him a quarter under the table.  Or maybe it was the ghastly track suit we gave him as a joke one year...

Got NO pictures of the wedding reception place... My camera was left in the car.  Just take my word for it.  It was beautiful!

On the way out of town, we picked up a pizza in our favorite pizza joint from our college days and headed home.  It was a 3 hour drive.  After gorging themselves on pizza, the girls slept and Robb and I had some time to talk and reflect.

There's a lot to be thankful for this year.  It's always good to count those blessings!

So glad that you had such a great Thanksgiving. Yes true words to live by "be thankful for." so glad that you got to have little Leon for part of the day.

The big family reunion sounds wonderful too - I love days like that.

Enjoy the blessings of the season!
