Corned Beef Weekend Ramblings

You know a day is going to be a hard one when it starts before it's supposed to.  Wind whipped around our house this morning around 4am.  I woke up due to it and wondered if I'd be able to get back to sleep.   Apparently it woke up Duke too and I could hear him howling in the garage.

He's in the garage because Ellie is in season...  As our neighbors will testify, there WILL be puppies again this spring.

And probably new neighbors...

I had been hoping the wind would mask his howls, but nope.

And then Leon woke up.  I brought him back to bed with me and tried to sleep a little bit more.  Mostly just faked it by shutting my eyes and trying to pretend that my shoulder that Leon had his head on didn't hurt.  It does.  I strained it the other day and it hasn't cleared up yet.

While we struggled to get out the door, my cell phone rings with work stuff.  If I get bogged down with an emergency, Meri will NEVER get to school...  I told work I'd be right back.

So now it's been non-stop ever since getting to work this morning.  So many fires to bat out...

ANYWAY!!!  Back to fun stuff!!!

High school concert Thursday for Maddy.  I texted a friend into showing up and she was SO glad she got a chance to see her son play in the jazz band.  LOVE how the songs are getting better every time we hear them!  Standing ovation at the end!  Wow, they were good.

Middle school solo performance on Saturday.  Meri did a wonderful job on her clarinet with that solo!

Her tone is so much better than last years!  Those teachers are wonderful.

Playing in the hall before Meri's performance.

And yes, he was raised by Elves...

Robb made corned beef brisket with cabbage for dinner! We used to do a new recipe every Sunday night in the winter to get ready for our annual St Patrick's Day meal.    I'm so glad we're back into that with a bang!

Then this morning.  Leon was a helper with the dishwasher!  Can you hear the sarcasm??  THIS is why we have a service agreement on this thing!!!  It has served us well...

A gold crown that I've had for the last 20 years fell out on Friday due to  me enjoying Milk Duds too much.. I'm getting old and the falling apart junk is starting in my mouth...  I stuck it back in with Fixadent, that I had to purchase because I never thought I'd be old enough to use it, but it fell out again yesterday with a french fry.  You'd think someone is trying to tell me something...  No candy canes!  No Milk Duds!  No junk food!!

Dang.

I cut out a sample pair of pants this weekend for me and still need to get Meri to do it too.  It won't be tonight...  I just need to sew mine together part way before our sewing meeting this weekend.

Heading to a friends for lunch.  Hope she isn't serving Corned Beef...  or cabbage...

Update:  Now I had NO idea!!!  But my friend served Reuben sandwiches!!!  Corned beef and sauerkraut...  She doesn't read my blog!

Love that little monkey climbing on everything!

You know, 20 years for a crown is a good run. Stay away from Sugar Daddy's...

You must really like corn beef ;)
My grand daughter loves the dishwasher too but lucky, she hasn't climbed on the door yet!

Maybe Leon will repair dish washers for a living when he get older.
I don't know how you manage to do it all!

Just take the crown to the dentist and get him to glue it on for another 20 years.

Leon is adorable!
