Twas A Good Friday!

Last Friday was my husband's birthday!  He turned 4# and still acts like 2#, which is a good thing!  Sometimes he talks with his brother like they're 15...  But maybe that was just dinner last night...

Meri made his cake when we celebrated on Sunday night.  YUM!

Anyway, last Friday, I finished my two hour work shift in the morning and the rest of the day was for him.  His plans to spend the weekend with his high school buds fell through due to weather issues, so he was a little bummed.  So I invited him out to lunch, providing he still had those gift cards from those two restaurants so we'd have a choice of where to go!

We left the kids at the house and started out on our date!  It's rare we get one without someone along... and then it's awkward.  We got a few miles down the interstate when we got a call from Ryan with some bad news but hope.  But he needed us to drive him somewhere immediately...

gggggggghhhhhhhrrrrrr...  I can't wait until he gets his drivers license back!  No wait, maybe I can...

Needless to say, we turned around after 5 more miles to the next exit and headed back to get him.  Took him to his destination and decided to have lunch at one our fave restaurants in town instead.

This lady started out her business as takeout sandwich lunches in the basement of a paint shop YEARS ago when we met her.  Our kids grew up together.  Ryan climbed one of her 50 foot trees in her front yard once and I'm SO glad I'm not the parent who saw him do that, or my heart would have given out...  One of her boys now tours Sweden and most of Europe with his rock band.  Seriously...  Ryan is kicking himself that he didn't jam with them all those years ago.

Her business grew bit by bit and now her little restaurant is downtown and hopping during the lunch hours.  We got there at a good time and were able to get a good table!

Once she saw us, she came out and asked Robb to check out a computer issue she was having.  He's kind of like a doctor that way...  "Doctor, can you check out this mole?"  He said certainly and I happened to mention that it was his birthday.

Don't you hate that when someone spills the beans??  He does!  Robb doesn't like the attention!  BUT it was Robyn, so he was somewhat ok with it.

When we were almost done eating lunch, she came out with her waitresses and a ukelele!  lol!  She played Happy Birthday and everyone in the restaurant sang for him...

BOOYA!!

And then later that day I posted this pic on FB.  Robyn was NOT happy with it!!!  Oh well.  She doesn't read my blog, I don't think...  So I guess it's safe here.

Oh I left it up on FB.  EVERYONE hates pictures of themselves!  I know I do...  Although there are those types that take new pics of themselves almost every day where they're looking flirtatiously at the camera.  How candid can THAT be??  Ah vanity...

Anyway, Happy Birthday a week ago to my husband!  I love you!

Happy birthday to him! I love how you wrote 4# and then you can see 47 on the cake! I will be 5# this year. 5#!!!??? I think I act much younger. That might not be a good thing.

My brother does auto body work. Whenever we go out, or meet up, SOMEONE is always asking him to take a look at their car and get his opinion. His wife is to the point when you say, 'Hey Bill will you.' she will interject and say, 'if you are about to say look at your car, don't. He's available Monday - Friday until 5.' Annoying as you know what but she's right. There's a time and place for everything, including having damage to your car checked out.
