Another one for the scrapbooks!
The prom dress is done!
Forgive the wrinkles!
Oh and except for ... a teensy bit needs to be trimmed down on one hip seam... and of course pressing, to press out the seams again and because it's wadded up in a sack right now... *we took it to a friends last night where I sewed on the buttons...*
Here is the back of the dress with a paper clip as the top closure. A hook and eye was sewn on later. Please forgive the red bra again... *truly it's not the only one she owns!*
The full photos were just after I got it hemmed and just before the buttons got sewn on.
She stood on the piano bench and I pinned everywhere we wanted the hem. And of course I guessed wrong. Minor crisis as she kicked it around after I'd used the scissors on it and said, "It's shorter than I thought it was going to be!"
AYAYAIIYYAHAIII!
So... in order to hem and not take much more off, I just serged the hem. It will not be rolled up, that's just how I roll...
She got her sequins after all, but they're the shoes. She found some flats that were just a heap of black sequins on each foot. They look smashing! Too bad I didn't get a pic of those... They're so much better than her idea of wearing her dirty Converse tennies under the dress! Sorry Mabs! I couldn't let you do that!
Prom is Saturday. We'll be playing with prom hair tonight!
