wOW... Today has been a rush already! Crisis back and forth as soon as I got to work. So I've got a few minutes before my next meeting...
We've got two light switches for our kitchen. One for the center light and one for the lights above the counters. actually 3... One is above the sink... So anyway, one day, Robb flipped the switch for the counter light. It flashed on, then off. He flipped it back and forth and nothing happened.
dang. That means we need to call an electrician. Probably something with the switch.
So, we didn't want to fork over money for an electrician yet, so we let it go for a week or two. We've got other lights and a little less light over our food while we eat can sometimes be a good thing if what we're making doesn't look exactly right anyway! We eat a lot at the counter bar.
And it wasn't a priority...
One day, we're sitting at the counter talking. Leon is wandering around the kitchen with our broom, swinging it around, knocking things off the counter.
We think he may be a janitor in the future...
While we're talking, suddenly the light above the counter flashed on and stayed on!
At first we thought, It's a miracle!!!
Then we saw Leon pulling the broom handle out from behind the counter top microwave and a light bulb went off in our heads... There are other switches for these same lights behind the microwave!! The one for the counter lights must have gotten jammed! We put a few things on top of the microwave and something had slipped behind and blocked the light switch...
He saved us boocoo bucks!
And the humiliation of having an electrician laugh at us...
and then bill us...
Leon has received his calling in life... He's going to be an electrician!

I think he will make more money as an electrician than a janitor.
The electrician would have laughed as he was writing out the bill. You know he would! Yay for Leon's broom antics.
We have dual switches in the kitchen too. I hate when one isn't all the way on or off because it is ALWAYS the switch farthest from me at that time ;)
Go Leon!
LOL, love this!! Kids certainly have perspectives that adults sometimes tend to "overlook" don't they? ;-)
Have a great day!
