4 Weddings and a Funeral

THAT got your attention!  But really... it was 4 graduations and a confirmation!  One from college and three from high school, including my own Maddy.  I've got a couple sisters and a bil in the extended Chicago area, who have a lot of kids between them.

Some more than others...  But this was a big year for graduations and confirmations out there.  So much that it was going to be impossible to get to them all especially since Maddy's grad party was on the same day as one of theirs.

3 of the graduates.  The one on the right now has a college degree, a new job AND swim trunks under that towel!  We did miss one of the graduates, as she had to work that day.

My sister trying to keep Leon from jumping off the steps.  He thinks he's invincible!

So.  multiple party problem solved!  My sisters got together and cooked up a family get-together to celebrate them all at once and why not throw Fathers Day and Mothers Day into the mix too!

A few steaks, Corn OTC, beans and potato salad later, we had ourselves a partay!

All the kids including the ones who wouldn't come out of the pool.  It seriously takes us 45 minutes to say goodbye!

Two of my sisters, my mom and myself.  Posing in all ways except alphabetical.  Ignore the wet spot on my shirt.  Leon had been playing in the pool and soaked me!

My mom and dad rode out with us and we had a great time.

You know it's time to take it down when kids are sitting on top.

Leon was quite the traveler and only squawked a few times.  Found out that he can sit through a movie too!  That's always handy in a car!

When I was a kid, I found that if you slept as much as possible, the trip would seem like magic because when you woke up, you'd be there!  Leon hasn't figured that out yet.

My parents posed on the way to the car.

Mom and I got him to learn his vowels on the way home!  He will repeat after us, A,E,I,O,U and sometimes Y.  One at a time, repeating the letter after we said it, but it was still VERY impressive!  Still waiting for him to call out Grandma!  But I'm sure that will come with a little more time.

Consonants are harder.

He started at a new day care today and was having a blast when we left him.  This is the same place two of my kids went as children and where Maddy is working now.  I feel blessed that he was able to get in.  They had a huge waiting list!

Ok - back to work!!!  Have a great Monday and I hope to bop around and visit you guys soon!

You look like you have lost a lot of weight? If you haven't I would like to buy that camera please!!!
And it sounds like a wonderful daycare!!!
You have so much family, I would never keep them all straight. Den's family is very large and I felt like I was being swarmed when I first met everyone.
