Life is good

Spending an afternoon on the water was so much fun that I was totally drained by the time we got home late afternoon.  Some friends from church invited us to come out on their pontoon boat and have lunch after church on Sunday.

As it happened, a sister of mine from Kentucky would also be stopping by for a visit around the same time, so she and her two girls came along.  That's my sister on the right with blond hair and a baseball cap.  The oldest of 8.

I was surprised when we got to the lake and found our friends already on the boat with their coolers waiting for us.  I was suddenly worried because we bought raw brats...  But then saw their little Smokey Joe grill and realized what was up.

Silly me...

Their boys, whom I didn't get a single picture of...  were out tooling around on their Ski-doo.  Boys and their toys...

They got Meri and Leon hooked on them too. Leon is waving goodbye!

Then Meri got a chance to drive.  That kid will try to drive anything!  Except the lawn mower.  She and I need to have a talk...

Leon tried out the water shooter and finally got enough guts to actually make it shoot.  He was afraid of it at first.  Ever hear the term "drunken sailor" when referring to a toddler?

That was him.  He didn't get his sea legs until we got back to shore.

HE got to drive too!  But just the pontoon and not at a fast speed.  He waved to all the pretty girls on the other boats.

We're going to have to watch this one...

I tried to wash up their little folding table after lunch, sat on the little bench and it crumpled underneath me...  Yeah, I broke it!  sigh...  Guess I need to lose some weight...  Plus the big container of calico beans that we brought slid off and every single crevice of that tables seat was covered with bean gunk.  I just sat amidst the mess and attempted to wipe it off with baby wipes until I had regained enough dignity to actually get up.  How embarrassing!

BUT!  With good friends and fun boats, life is good.

Oh how I hate when that happens! The breaking of a seat. And everyone was there to know YOU did it. Last thing I broke by sitting on it was the toilet seat at work and thank goodness no one was waiting to use it after me ;o)

I sat in our chair on the 4th and my butt went through. Of course, I squealed and drew everyone's attention to me.
