Costuming features.

We're getting there!!!  The cape is done.  We just need to wash it in a nice mud bath to make it complete.

 

As for the vest, I got working zipped up pockets in and please excuse the zipper top stitching... Also pay no attention to the seam that needs to be pressed out...  Or stitched down.  I haven't decided yet.

It's Halloween, not a runway show!  


I, by accident, discovered that if you iron on this pleathery stuff directly (I may have mentioned it yesterday) it melts and gives a very nice distressed look.  I told Meri about it.  So after she'd had a swatch soaking in bleach for 3 days with no effect, decided to go wreck my iron trying it out.  Eh, I guess it will clean...
My idea though is to use an old curling iron that no one wants.  We've got a good selection!  

I still need to make a cap/hood with antenae for this little bumblebee!  I think I'll do that over lunch and get his costume ready for tomorrow's party at daycare.
