In a pinch and your grandson needs a pair of mittens...
You turn a pair of your stretchy ones inside out. Sew at the base of the fingers, trim and turn back around.
Of course the secret is to not have your machine threaded when you do the sewing part and your grandson has to leave the house mitten-less. Only THEN do you have time to get the thing threaded properly, sewn & trimmed.
Don't know if I need to add more elastic around the cuff yet. He's not here to try it on.
I guess I need a duct tape Leon hand.

I think you need a complete duct tape Leon. Then you could make him all sorts of clothes. You need one for everyone. Just replace the family slowly with duct tape people.
