When the freaks come out!

We took Leon over to the mall to see his Daddy just before Ryan's haunted store front opened up for the evening.  Leon got to get spooked first!  And apart from seeing his dad and the candy that some of the other shops gave out too, he wasn't too impressed with the spooky things.  GOOD!  They mostly freaked him out a lot.

Meri and her merry band of zombified friends helped Ryan out at the haunted house for a while.

While they scared the few kids that came into the mall that night, Leon and I went to see my bestie and her husband.  He showed Leon a Halloween card that played music and Leon ADORED it!  Can't you tell from his expression?

Then Leon would grab a plain old card and give that to Mike to play too, so Mike made up his own song when it opened.  Usually Old MacDonald...  But some were just plain old cards!  Sorry for the blurriness, but this one showed his absolute joy of the musical cards!  $6 for a card isn't TOO much I guess, if it makes THIS much happiness!  I am being sarcastic.  That price is outrageous for even this kind of card!!!  Especially when the plain cards sing too.

Then we hustled back home to eat our fill of chili, hand out candy, eat candy, run with Leon around the neighborhood and let the girls roam free.  I think they all had a good time.  Nothing scary happened, which is always good.  But I can tell you right now, I'm glad there weren't too many kids around last night, because I was NOT going to go to the car for the other box of fruit snacks with zombies on the loose...  It was DARK!

This morning, I had some free time before coming out to my office, so I started plotting my next sewing project...  I'm making some mittens for Leon.  His little hands were so cold last night...

I also dug out the FREAKY PILGRIM PEOPLE!!!!

They are set up and ready for the best two months of the year!

Well, they only get to hang around for one of them....

Now THAT'S scary!

And you can get those singing cards for a buck at the Dollar Store for a cheaper splurge.
