So Robb and I went around after work, picking up the cars that were in the shops. One is working great with a new auto start that we'd gotten for my MIL for Christmas. The other car is still leaking oil like a sieve. The shop couldn't fix it, so we need to take it to another shop today. With any luck, Maddy will have her car back by Valentine's Day.
JUST KIDDING SWEETIE!!!
Eh - she's got Robb's car. She'll be fine. The only issue with that car is that only the defrost and foot area blowers work.
Pretty sad, when my car is the GOOD car this week!
So anyway, on the way home in two separate cars, I took a deviation from the path and went to see my bestie for a little bit. When I got home, I called Robb and he and I went uptown to pick up Maddy's car. I dropped him off and then stopped for the
mail on the way back to the house. We have locked boxes about a half
block from our house. Sometimes I'm in a rush to get home or leave and
the mail goes unpicked up for a few days. Sometimes a week... I don't think our mailman likes us very much... I'll make a note to give him a tray of candies next year at Christmas-time.
So anyway, I stopped for the mail. Got it and drove the extra few feet into our driveway.
I know you're wondering why I'm telling you this in such detail.
Well... It's VERY interesting, the lives of others, don't you think? Every minute detail??...
There's a reason.
The yoga pants that I'm wearing today don't have pockets, so I've been relying on my coat pocket or just the counter to put my phone away. So when we went upstairs to bed, I realized I didn't have my cell phone. I'm on call this week, so I'll need it. Went downstairs and it wasn't in my coat nor on the counter. I picked up the house phone and called it while walking all through the house, out to my office, upstairs, downstairs and in the laundryroom. The volume is always up high because I'm getting deaf. No sounds. I felt even deafer. I looked through couch cushions because that can muffle things. I even went out to my car with a coat over my bathrobe to see if I'd left it there. nothing...
I went back inside and retraced my steps upon arriving at home last night. Ate supper, played with Leon, picked up the livingroom, did laundry... Then took a couple steps further back. Talked with Robb on the cell to get the car, stopped for the mail.
AHA!!!
I took our house phone and went out the front door in my bathrobe, coat and mule tennies. QUITE attractive ensemble, I might add... Calling my phone number constantly, I walked toward the mailboxes.
THERE! In the middle of the street was my cell phone laying face down in the snow ringing, "I should be so lucky! Lucky Lucky Lucky!" The song getting louder as I walked closer.
Dig my ring tone...
I must have laid it on my lap after talking with Robb and it fell onto the road when I got out for the mail.
Good thing traffic is low on our street and it hadn't been crushed! Good thing it was dark and my neighbor putting out his garbage couldn't see me very well... Or I'm sure he'd be wondering where I got my gorgeous crushed velvet bath robe so he could get one for his wife... and Good thing it wasn't that cold out last night!
Weather in the teens is quite balmy!
I should drop my phone more often. The exercise and fresh air are great!

Amazing. Mine would have been crushed. I just know it.
I lose my phone EVERY day! It's like Easter egg hunting. I manage to piss someone that I live with every time I yell out, Where is my phone." They don't like the game. I found my phone in a ditch once.
