Food Channel debut in about 18 years

Leon is our "cooker".  If anyone is in the kitchen, he has to be in the thick of it and helping!  I was trying to get something done and Ryan was about to make a sandwich, so I said, "Hey!  Teach Leon how!"  

So he did.  In putting the peanut butter on the bread, Leon has to push it through the bread with the knife.

Last night I made stir fry, so I got him into his high chair with a cutting mat and a frosting knife.  The carrot scraping was NOT a hit because after I showed him how to scrape them, the little bits got on his fingers...

Yuck!

So I gave him a piece of green pepper and he sat there happy as a clam mashing it into oblivion until I pulled out the mandolin slicer.  Then he yelled the whole time I used it because apparently he wants a shot!  

Don't think so.  I rushed as quick as I could with it, of course being careful to not cut off a finger...  No one else was home for a distraction.  Luckily Robb came home when he did, so I could get the meat cut up.

On Friday night, when I was making pizzas, I had him help put the pepperonis on.  One of my sisters used to work at a pizza joint and told me that the pepperonis need to be on the top of the cheese.  hmm..  I'd never tried that, so I did and that turned out great, so I've done it that way ever since.  

Leon thinks that putting pepperoni pieces on top of the cheese is okay... but if you shove it through the cheese and sauce and actually into the crust, that's even better!

And just so you know, it's one pepperoni for the pizza, two for Leon.  Unless he thinks there is an open spot on the pizza, then he'll take a half of one out of his mouth and place it there.  

*I grab those off when he's not looking...*
