Leon doesn't care for The Wild Thornberries, but is a huge fan of Turbo. It must be a guy thing.
He is so adorable for our evening routine. He drinks some milk while we watch a little tv with him snuggled into my arm pit. Then he brushes his teeth and we pray. He's been starting to pray along with me... kind of. He reminds me of Brick from The Middle. *middle*
For a long while, he quietly repeats the last word of each line, but last night said the last word with me most times. TOO CUTE!
Here's how he had been doing it most of the time. Now he's adding a couple more words here and there. It's amazing to see how quickly he learns!
Now the light has gone away. *away*
Father listen while I pray. *pray*
Asking thee to watch and keep. *keep*
And to send me quiet sleep. *sleep*
Jesus, Savior wash away. *wash* < he loves to wash his hands... thus the variation.
All that has been wrong today. *today*
Help me every day to be. *to be*
Good and gentle, more like thee. *thee*
When he wants to watch The Wizard of Oz while he eats dinner, he asks for Poppies. And if that isn't available will settle for "BEAST"! His daddy used to insist on BEAST too when he ate (at age two). (That's Beauty and the Beast in case you're wondering just what beast we let him watch on a regular basis.)
When he wants to go on a walk, even just around the house, he reaches how his hand to you and says, "Walk!"
If he wants you to read him a book, he'll say, "BOOK!"
If you point at each person in the room, he can tell you who that person is. Even if it's kid pictures of his daddy and aunts. He can tell you who is who.
When you point at him and ask, "Who is this?" He says "YOU". That part gets tricky. How do you explain that to a kid? You, me, no you! are me. sigh.
And sometimes he'll just jabber away and expect you to know what he's saying. He'll get frustrated and repeat it word for word until you just have to say, "Show me what you want to do." That usually helps!
Well, I better stop my list here. Got a lot to do. Got paged at 5:30 this morning... I'm just glad it wasn't earlier! It really could have been. The printer had not been working since 2am.

Ha Ha Soon I will have to brush up on Jabberisms so I am taking notes !
I am going to be a grandmum for the FIRST time this July :) Keep me posted with the Jabber to English tips :)
Nothing like -isms!
I so know what you mean......
Millie likes to make these random jebber jabber sounds that I can't duplicate if I tried, then looks at me like she's expecting a response to what she said :)
How can Leon not like The Wild Thornberries?!!!! I love Eliza! He is such a cutie and looking so grown up!
Oh how darling. You brought back sweet memories of our boys learning to pray.
