Random thoughts for a Wednesday

Feeling indifferent today.  I guess that translates to random...

Here is Robb playing the pipes at midnight on New Years Eve.  We had both just woken up from a nap...  Yeah, we're hip that way!  Kind of a blah NYE this year...

Heard a dog barking and "I think" wolves howling outside last night around 12:30am.  I scrambled to make sure our dogs were all brought in and they were.  Not sure what was happening, but SUDDENLY the barking stopped!  hmmm...  

Leon has a Popeye CHEESE whenever I pull out a camera these days.  I hope he gives it up before Senior pictures...  For now, it's pretty darn cute though!

A friend of Maddy's came over this weekend to borrow one of her dresses for the Sweetheart dance coming up.  Maddy pulled out all her fancy dresses except for her yellow prom dress as she thinks that one is too personal to loan out.  Maddy literally put her heart and soul into that one with the hand painting.  She took the black prom dress!  I guess long dresses are the thing nowadays for Sweetheart.  She'll bring the black one back in a few weeks.

 Maddy leaves today to go back to school...  I'm already planning her next care package and it will most likely involve things she's forgotten!  BUT fun stuff too!  Don't worry Maddy!!

It's been a VERY nice Christmas break with the kids.  It's been nice seeing them enjoy each others company and wanting to spend time, even late into the night, with each other.  Maddy didn't hang out with her friends ALL the time and we got a LOT of family time in for which I'm truly thankful.

On Monday, Ryan, Maddy and Meri went thrifting together, ALL day...  They had a blast and even ate lunch out at Zombie Burger in Des Moines.  They came home with all sorts of treasures!  Mostly clothes but Ryan got lots of things for Leon.  Leon went back to day care Monday after almost 2 weeks off.  It was pretty rough for him getting back into a routine.

Of course, when they got back, Ryan was feeling sick and spent the rest of that day, the next day and today so far in bed with no appetite.  Apparently he has caught what Leon had last week...  Yuck!

Meri took her drivers permit test yesterday and GOT her permit!!!  She was with Robb and texted me on the way home, "I got my permit and Dad is letting me drive on the interstate!  I'm still on it."  Yep - that required an immediate phone call from me...  She's a kidder!

Got my hair cut last night.

 

Maddy and I will have lunch together then I'll kick her out the door.  Not that I want to...  kick her I mean...

The puzzle that I got for Christmas from my bestie is still not done.  I thought for sure Maddy would have it completed before she left.  Maybe I should insist she stay until it's together...

Sigh.
