Butter My Biscuit!

Found a recipe for biscuits on Michelle's  Small Town Life blog yesterday and happened to mention it to Robb.  He said, Go for it!  So we made biscuits and chunky chicken gravy for dinner last night.

I used my mixer with the dough hook, but next time I make them, I'll follow the recipe more closely and knead them out by hand.  They still turned out good!  However the kids didn't care for the gravy.  You couldn't PAY Leon to take more than one bite...  Or bribe him with toys or presents either.

Ryan buttered one biscuit for him and he ate that really well.

And just one twist on the recipe... I NEVER have self-rising flour in the house, so I had Robb Google an alternative.  For each cup of flour, add 1.5 teaspoons of baking powder and .5 teaspoons of salt.  Then sift them together.  I have no sifter, so I used a screen thing that you use over frying food.  It worked great over a large bowl!  Now I need a real sifter for the next time I make these!  I have a feeling this recipe is a keeper.

Anyway, go check out Michelle's recipe and try it out! HERE

Also yesterday was the ten year anniversary of Facebook!!  I've only been on for 8.  But their gift to us was a video that they make of your experience on Facebook over the years.  It only took about 3 seconds to click on the app and suddenly you have a video made!  So cool!  Unfortunately I couldn't link directly to it because a lot of you guys aren't my FB friends or even USE FB, so I thought I'd bring it to you!

Enjoy!

I've never made biscuits before but I do have some self-rising flour. Hmmmm and its a slight blizzard outside. Maybe I should bake. Or I could continue to waste time on the computer. Hmmmmmm, which would you pick?
