Saturday was a day of the undead. Meaning that I wasn't dead, of course!
So we celebrated by going out to eat at Zombie Burger in Des Moines. The kids have been here a few times, but it was a first for Robb, Leon and myself. Even though it was 11:30am, there was a 30 minute wait to get in.
We were able to find a table though to sit, wait and peruse through the menu to decide our fates.
Leon had to go check out the zombie mannequins but wouldn't go within 6 feet unless you were holding him and even then you had to fight for the photo op!
I ended up with the Dead Moines burger, although I did toy with the idea of the Trailer Trash Zombie burger... Robb got Le Horde, I think Ryan got the Raygun. Meri got the Walking Ched and a Tutti F&%#in Fruity shake, where they mix Tutti Fruity cereal in with the shake and apparently swear while they make it.
Leon got some chicken strips that I'm sure had an interesting name and pile of fries. We all ate off his fries until our food came only seconds later... How were WE supposed to know? Leon didn't seem to mind.
He started getting into the whole theme by digging into human flesh as well... Don't give that kid a fork!
Here is Meri's Walking Ched.
Seriously, the bun is made from deep fried mac and cheese! WOW, what a mess THAT was to eat for her! We just set the pile of napkins next to her plate...
What I've heard is that they get at least 150-200 calls a day asking if they'll do a franchise and they won't. BUT there is another restaurant with the same name in Australia, purely by coincidence!
So if you're in the Des Moines area, you've got to check them out! It is definitely an experience! Give me a call and I'll make the drive to join you!
Have a zombyfied day!

I would love to eat there. Sounds like fun!
I SO don't get this whole fascination with zombies....didn't when oldest was in that phase and still don't.
I guess it is hanging on though since it's still around.
Now you need to get to the pacific NW and go to Zombie Donuts too.
Yikes, eat enough of those artery cloggers and you will turn into a zombie!
But what a way to go.....lolz
This looks like way too much fun. My besties son is going to Iowa for college. Hmmmm, we might need to go on a road trip with them!!!!!
