Oh yeah! I sewed this weekend and blew off ALL the rules to make a fashionable item. I went with horizontal stripes AND saddle bag hips!!! On purpose... But on paper, it all made sense and was going to be adorable!
Turns out that this particular pattern runs large. And I mean LARGE! I'm going to have to re-cut the front and back panels and then take in several inches around the hips. Meri felt like she was wearing an over sized maternity top.
In other news! Let's do a project using "new" math. It also involves the birds and the bees...

Yes, you are correct! A pregnant dog plus a school concert equals puppies that will be start being born while we're at the concert. The exact same thing has happened the last 3 years in a row...
Two were born by the time we got home! Meri stayed up until midnight mid-wifer-ing and then got up at 3 to check on the mommy. She counted 8 puppies and went back to bed.
Meri is one happy girl! tired but happy!
This morning, we shooed Ellie outside for a few minutes to swap out the blankets so the puppies just fell off of her and we got a close up look at them all. 4 boys and 5 girls.
That's right! That equals 9 golden puppies!!
Aye Yi Yi!!!
Leon read them a book this morning!
The laundry room is going to be hopping this spring!
I might have visitors fold a batch of laundry as the fee to puppy holding...

See what happens when I don't get here in time ~ puppies !!! Oh I am loving this ...gorgeous puppies too.
They are so cute and I would pay that fee just to hold a puppy or two!!
